I came across a question from a reader today on CNN.com about whether or not her work from home business required a business license from her state of South Carolina. I came across smallbusinessnotes.com, which conveniently lists a collection of links to State government sites with useful information for businesses, such as licensing information, labor and unemployment insurance, taxes, and other general information in regards to doing business in your state. While applicable to all small businesses, it is most certainly helpful for your work at home business if you are unsure about any proceedings to follow in your state as you get things going.
