Sick of hearing bad news all the time?

Recession…insanely high gas prices…three year old shoots herself in head…the never-ending crisis in Tibet - these are just SOME of the news headlines for today. Enough for one day, isn’t it? If you are like me, you are probably tired and stressed out from being exposed to such negative media day after day, or hour after hour if you subscribe to any RSS news feeds.

I figure a lot of us are on this website looking for a way to better our lives - through finding a great job or gig that will allow us more freedom, family time, and overall satisfaction. That being said, it’s easy to feel down in this economy and lose hope. But, really, when will we as a human civilization ever realize that negative energy that is spread day after day is only harboring us? It is not helping matters to sit and worry and fret over bad things that happen. We can turn that worry into action, and turn negative thoughts into positive ones. Now I’m not saying it’s easy, but I am saying that it can make your life easier if you continue to adopt that mantra. Apply it to your everyday - your home life, your career, your outlook on the world, and see what kind of difference it makes.

And stop reading the bad news - we all know that the media would be nowhere without it, but do we need it forced into our lives day after day? While it is important to be aware of what is going on in the world, it is not imperative to take in each and every bad story. Read the positive news, the good news! I no longer go to CNN.com as avidly as I did before - the site I bookmark for news is now the Good News Network. It may just brighten your day and lift your spirits. It may inspire you to go after your dreams…and land that telecommuting job you’ve always wanted.

Just some inspiration for a Monday!
