School’s Out for Summer! (Working from home with the kids)
The kids are on break! What does that mean for you and your work from home job or business?
In researching this for all you parents, I came across this pretty popular article, “94 Ways to Keep Kids Busy for the Work at Home Parent.” The article, courtesy of Sparkplugging.com features tips such as chore charts, play date swaps, healthy snack packages, cheap movie rentals, and pool passes. Also featured are dozens of age-specific arts and crafts activities, designed to keep your little ones busy as you produce throughout your work day.
I have a little two year old, so much of the list does not apply to me, as toddlers are generally not ones to keep themselves occupied for long. They need a lot of attention (in fact, I’m holding my daughter right now as she colors in my lap), so breaking up your work day (naps, playtime) is essential with a toddler. And, I totally agree with the writer of the article - nighttime hours are generally the most productive work hours when you have wee ones!
What about you? What additional tips do you have to add as a work from home parent?
I’d love to hear them.
