My Freedoms as a Self-Employed Telecommuter
I have the freedom to..
- work in my pajamas. Most of the time I wake up around 10am, roll out of bed, make necessary updates to the sites that I’m currently working on then I lay back down until I want to become active.
- watch the Price is Right while working. In fact, I can do pretty much anything that keeps me entertained. If the TV isn’t replaying reruns of the Office DVDs, my speakers are blasting the music of my choice. It’s amazing how quick the day goes by when you listen to album after album of your favorite artists. Don’t worry because I do catch up with the news, occasionally.
- eat what I want when I want. I would like to personally congratulate the first person who came up with the idea of deliviring prepared food to someone’s doorstep. Sir or madam, if you are reading this, I sincerely thank you.
- just get up and leave. When days aren’t going the way I want them to, I don’t get frustrated. I leave. There’s nothing more relaxing than spending a few hours in a park or on a campus just snapping pictures.
- catch up with family and friends. I live over 3 hours away from any type of family member and it helps to keep in touch by just spending a few minutes talking on Skype or any instant messaging client.
- enjoy the work that I do. Believe it or not, I do read every piece of email that gets sent to me and there is nothing more uplifting than knowing someone was personally helped through this website. I am constantly trying to make changes to better everyone’s situations and these emails keep me motivated.
What are your freedoms?
