Floating an idea.. Feedback?
Most of my ideas come pretty randomly and most work out for the best, but I’ve had this idea for about a week now and have even had several dreams about it. So, I really need to throw it out there and I want to know what you guys think.
Okay, so. Jobs are becoming increasingly more difficult to find and searching is taking up more time each morning. This is why I want to offer you guys even more jobs; however, there will be a monthly membership fee. I know what you’re all thinking: Steve’s a sellout. Well, the site as it stands now will remain the same. New jobs daily, plenty of resources, and help for all. That will remain free and the site will continue to operate as it is now. Whether or not you had a subscription, you wouldn’t notice a difference.
Now what would you get for signing up? Well, even more jobs. I’d say 20? These would come from both craigslist and other sources as well. I’d be branching out for more various jobs. Perhaps, employers looking to hire specifically from DT? How about a forum? A place to collaborate and discuss jobs as well? What would you expect if you were paying $5 or $10 a month? Looking for ideas.

Suggestion: A handful of free links and then more when you sign in as a paid member. I also suggest a year or monthly membership option, $5 a month or $50 for the year. http://www.prisonplanet.tv does a variation of this.
Honestly: I agree with Chris providing the customer with alternate payment methods to subscribe…..Also I dont think you are a sell out what your doing know is awesome…My opinion if you are thinking about branching in other areas say sales, management, etc…allow them to access some of them on the site for free….If wanting more subscribe….Just a thought!

My entire income used to be generated off jobs I got of your site. Not so much anymore since my own business has taken off to the point that I have more work than I can handle. But I definetly think your leads are worth money. Even though I don’t need it as much anymore I still read through the posts everyday and would probably pay a subscription fee to get access to more. Also I think message boards would be awesome. I have found that forming alliances with people has boosted my business more than anythng else so another place to make those connections would definetly have a value to me.
