Even the Federal Government Allows Telecommuting
Are you aware that the U.S. Federal Government has a telecommuting, or telework program? It’s true! Telework.gov is the official website established by The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the General Services Administration (GSA). The purpose of the website is to provide citizens easy access to information about teleworking for the U.S. government. All information conveyed on the website pertains only to Executive Branch agencies and employees (no judicial or legislative, in other words.)
The newly revamped website includes features such as:
* An FAQ database: browse by audience, search by keyword or topic area, submit ideas for new questions – the FAQ database is a powerful tool for finding the information you need
* Basics for Employees, Basics for Managers – listing the key steps for telework success
* Pages focusing on Emergency Planning, Security, Closure and Dismissal, Reasonable Accommodation, and Official Worksite
Check out www.telework.gov for more information.
