Copywriting has taken the telecommuting job scene by storm. If you have started or are interested in starting your copywriting career, take heed of these tips:

Promote Your Copywriting Business

• Become a master at selling yourself as a writer
• Do research on free or low-cost ways to promote your copywriting business
• Figure out the target market you want to write for, and research ways to land the jobs!
• Use all promotional dollars and time wisely

Figure Out How Much to Charge

• Find out how much copywriters earn. Know that it is not only the most skilled copywriters who earn the most - it’s the copywriters who know how to sell themselves best.
• Most copywriters earn between $30,000 and $300,000 per year! Find out what you can do to make the most you possibly can! The figure will depend on a number of factors, including your experience, how good you are at marketing your services, and the rates you charge.

Invest in a Website

Your website should include:
• A portfolio page
• A mix of writing samples
• Job experience
• Links to companies/clients that you work/have worked for
• Contact information
• A photo (doing a lot of business online? It’s a given people want to see what you look like!)
