ITT reviewer Barney does some more digging on PostcardProfits.com.

Today’s post is by Barney, another I’ve Tried That reviewer.
Luke Jaten is the person at the helm of PostcardProfits.com. The program is based on the idea that emails have taken over our mailboxes, so email advertising has become ineffective. However, US Mail advertising has decreased, so is now more efficient. People now get less snail mail than email advertising, so will pay more attention, thus making it more effective as advertising.

You pay a one time fee of $299.95 and get a 10 CD program (8 steps) for doing mass mailing of your advertising (of your own product). There is no product (that I can see), just the advertising program. It gives you resources for buying mailing lists for your advertising campaign. It provides you with recommendations as to what kind of products to sell. I don’t know what kind of recommendations that might be; I would have to purchase course. So, in addition to the course, you still have to pay for materials to mail, mailing lists, call center fees, 800 numbers, and postage, as well as whatever product you offer. It also says you get “3-Pre Made Ready to Mail Licenses” (whatever that means?). [Note by Joe: As we learned from Miyako on Monday, it means that you can use one of Jaten's ready-to-go sales campaigns.]

As an alternative to the up-front fee of $300, you can do the optional 30 day free trial offer for only $9 shipping and the 5 payments of $59.95.

So far, the comments I have found state that the delivery of the program is slow and questionable. People have reported they still have not gotten their kits yet, but enough time has passed that they have already been charged for the first $59.95 installment. Therefore, you have no chance to review the course via the free trial before you are charged for the continued program. I could not find any disclosures regarding terms and conditions or requirements for cancellation. Communication and support seem to be non-existent.

Their support page has a notice saying only that Luke also offers a $500 money back guarantee when you make your “final” purchase.

How this guarantee works is very simple, if you go through the entire course and do not make a minimum $10,000 in the next 90 days, Luke will personally send you a check for $500 and refund your course 100%. The reason we offer this guarantee is because we are so positive that you are going to be able to generate $10,000 in the next 90 days if not more.

Still, I see nowhere I can review any terms or conditions, so am sure he is not going to pay for one reason or another. I do not see, when you are advertising your own products, how anyone could guarantee you will make $10,000 in 90 days. Any profit generated from the mass mailing would be dependent upon what your product is. After reviewing some testimonials, it sounds like the people in the testimonial video and the ones online who claim to have had rave successes with the program are using it more to boost an already existing business. Perhaps there is a value to it for this purpose.

In another location, I found reference to Luke Jaten’s involvement with another course a couple of years ago where he was selling a course about Government FHA information for $1495. The poster claims that was a total scam. I do not know about that, as there was not enough information to track that one. This poster also says that Luke had problems with FTC compliance due to lack of Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Contact Info.

The support page gives you only an email address: supoprt@postcardprofits.com and a phone #800-870-0515. There is no address, but one contact said the mail he did receive from them came from DMG, Inc. in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The third page on the site asks you to sign up for the newsletter, which I did. It then takes you automatically to a sales pitch video, complete with testimonials, and ends with a sign up form for you to fill out and buy. I will let you know what I get as far as a newsletter, when I receive one. Also, I have left a message at the 800 number and sent an email to the support email address, but so far, three days later, I have not heard back.

In checking further on the Cheyenne, Wyoming address and company attached, the plot thickens:
There is no such address as 2710 Thomas Avenue, Ste #239, Cheyenne, Wyo 82001.

There is a 2710 Thomas Rd, Cheyenne, Wyo 82009. It belongs to a small, average little ranch home, not an office building and not the home of someone who makes $50,000 in one week (as Luke claims).

Further, the return address found for Postcard Profits and the phone message you get when you call their 800 phone number is for DMG, Inc. DMG, Inc has a hosted domain (Noexperienceneeded.com) via a hosting service. The same person owns 68 domains hosted via the same host, going back to March of 2004. The address is the same Cheyenne address.

DMG, Inc is for a nutritional supplement product called Dimethylglycine. It is a nutrient common to many grains and met. It is also claimed to support the immune system. They are selling the product. It is most often used for treatment of autism, but has no proven clinical benefits to date. Mainly his site for the DMG supplement is made up of advertising for others. [Note by Joe: It looks like there are two different DMG companies. One is this one and the other is Direct Marketing Group. The latter looks to be the most likely candidate associated with PostcardProfits.com.]

From looking at the sire, I would say he is making his money from the advertising of others on his domains. Strangely, there a 9 ads on his page that are for businesses in Cheyenne, WV. There is no such town as Cheyenne in West Virginia. However, part of his site includes ads for businesses in and around the area of Cheyenne, Wy. This looks as though it is a typo, but that many, and why have they not been corrected? I would not pay to advertise with someone who could not get my address correct in my ad. It just seems all second rate and strange.

20% of your actions deliver 80% of the results. Learn how to recognize when you're in that 20% zone.

What is the 80-20 Rule?

It’s a general rule of thumb in business and economics that says that 80% of the results come from 20% of the causes. Though the math might not be exact, the general rule very often holds true.

It’s true in your family: 20% of the home’s inhabitants create 80% of the dirty laundry and eat 80% of the chips.
It’s true at your job: 20% of the employees do 80% of the work (especially if you work for the government)
And it’s true of your search for ways to make money from home: 20% of your efforts produce 80% of the results. Which means that 80% of your efforts are wasted time. (Remember, the math is not always exact. It might be more like 69.23% of your efforts are wasted.)

So if you’re going to be successful in working from home (whether that’s through an online business or through more traditional jobs), you need to be aware of low-leverage vs. high-leverage activities.

Low-leverage activities are in the 80% category. You do them, but they are not very likely to bring big results.

High-leverage activities are in the 20% category. You get a lot of mileage from a little work with these activities. So, of course, you want to learn to recognize those high-leverage activities and try to spend more time there instead of on the time wasters.

High-leverage activities include things like study and training (if you’re talking about online businesses such as blogging or affiliate marketing), meeting new potential clients/employers and consistently searching for new work (if you’re talking about traditional jobs).

That last one is one of the easiest to master, but also one of the most commonly failed. Real work-at-home jobs are out there. I’ve had a few of them. But you won’t find them through a typical Google search. (In fact, searching Google for online jobs is at the bottom end of the low-leverage activity pile.) You find them through your contacts (which you are always hopefully expanding, another 20% activity) and through smart searches at select locations.

Which select locations? We’re partial to Craigslist because we have found jobs there and know others that have, too. We also like the job resources we published a few days ago. You’ll get more results from one hour of high quality searching at those locations than from five hours of the Google shotgun approach to finding work-at-home jobs.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, I absolutely consider reading I’ve Tried That a high-leverage activity.

You want jobs? We got jobs. If you're breathing, you can probably find a job with these resources.

We have focused on actual jobs in our last several posts. Today’s post continues that trend with a list of sites we trust to give you good job leads.

These aren’t training programs or affiliate marketing deals—just jobs. An arrangement in which you trade a known amount of time for a known amount of money.

No matter which job list you’re looking at, here’s some good advice from Paul, Mr. WorkatHome himself:

The main thing to watch out for on any job leads site including the biggest ones is the advertising. Because of the way the most popular advertising systems like Google adsense work it is very difficult to control the ads that appear on a website. However, typically advertising WILL be labeled as advertising (i.e., Ads by Google, etc.).

Work at Home No Scams

Eddy’s blog has a lot of quality content, and he now regularly lists telecommuting job leads. We’ve worked a little with Eddy in the past and hope to collaborate more in the future. He’s the real deal.

Undress4Success

This site is fairly new to the scene, but we like the way it looks. Lots of good information here, including a subscription-based jobs list. Click on the individuals link at the top to narrow down the information a bit.

Work at Home Truth

We also know Paul and vouch for his work. In this post, he links you to job sites he has personally vetted.

Freelance Switch

They don’t call this “the monster list” for nothing. Holy! This list is so large, I don’t even know what to say about it. I sure don’t have time to check them out and see if they’re good quality sites. But the guys at Freelance Switch do good work.

Workaholics 4 Hire

Lots of good information here, too. But if you want to skip all the preparation and help, scroll down to Step 7 and log in to the free jobs database.

You don’t need any more lists because these sources can keep you busy for … well, forever. If you can’t find a job using these sources, then maybe you should go apply at your local McDonald’s. (That’s not dissing you or McDonalds. It’s just that sometimes, a job away from the computer is easier to get.)

Don't expect to find online jobs. However, you have a good chance of finding jobs online. We explain the difference.

We have been promoting a couple of different affiliate marketing programs lately in Niche Blitzkrieg and Wealthy Affiliate University.

These programs teach you how to start from “I know nothing” and build potentially large incomes with an online business.

On one recent post, Rachel added in the comments:

Yeah these are great if you are wanting to do your own online business, but this does not help at all for those wanting to find actual online jobs. No programs or MLM, no stupid ebooks or blogging that Never really pays in the end and no online business crap. Just plain simple jobs that can be done from home that are legit. That’s all people are asking for and no job list websites that have you pay for a useless membership to only get programs, ebooks and build-your-own business systems.

She makes a great point and I agree with her core claim. (I don’t agree that these things “never really pay in the end.” I am living proof that they do. But that’s the subject of another post.) But she’s correct that the excellent training programs we have found do not help those readers who just want to find online jobs.

Jobs Defined

Part of the problem with the whole idea of searching for jobs online is the terminology. So let me be very clear: a job is an arrangement in which you trade a known amount of time for a known amount of money. $15 per hour, say. You might also trade your skill for a known amount of money, such as when you get paid a flat fee to transcribe a document. But that’s still a negotiation of how much time you spend.

There is also a key difference between online jobs and finding jobs online.

An “online job” would be an arrangement in which you trade known amounts of time for known amounts of money to do tasks over the Internet.

I hate to say it, but these are extremely rare. I can count the legitimate ones I’ve seen on one hand. However, many of the scammy sites we’ve exposed manipulate these meanings and your expectations. They lead you to believe that such jobs are common and easy to come by. They are neither.

“Finding jobs online” is the best way I know to use the Internet to make money if a job is what you’re looking for. You won’t do the work online, probably. But you’ll use online sources to find the jobs. These are jobs you can do at home or around town. You’ll trade time for money, like in a traditional job, but you won’t necessarily work over the Internet.

The good news? There are many jobs like this. Most of them call for a fairly specialized set of skills, such as these:

Writing, editing

Programming and scripting (including Perl, PHP, SQL, and so on)

Web site design

Bookkeeping

Graphics design

The (maybe) bad news? You will probably be an independent contractor, not an employee. That means you pay your own taxes.

So how do you find jobs online? You have to know where and how to search. And it’s not Google. Here is the quick version of our system, which I have used to find several well-paying jobs.
1. Go to Craigslist.org.
2. Find the jobs category that matches your skills.
3. Search for jobs where the telecommuting option is checked.
4. Send an awesome inquiry/application letter.

The full details of this system are in our e-book, The Complete Guide to Telecommuting. Check it out by clicking the link. It’s only $10 so it’s not much of a risk.

I could even be persuaded to give away a few of them to deserving, broke job seekers. Is that you? Drop me a line and convince me: joe[at]ivetriedthat[dot]com.

Experienced mystery shopper Jennifer has plenty of advice for those looking to shop and get paid.

Greetings! I’m Jennifer from www.HomeGrownMommy.com stopping in to do a guest post about something I’ve tried – mystery shopping.

Wouldn’t everyone love just a little extra cash in their pockets? I’m not talking millions of dollars here, just a little extra each month so that we can loosen the belt even one notch.

Haven’t we all seen the ads? It seems like more of them creep out of the cracks and corners each and every day! “A Stay At Home Mom Makes 1000’s Obeying This One Rule!” or “You Can Get Paid $75 An Hour Just to Shop!” Sometimes, we see them so much, we fall for one. After we live and learn, at least the experience was worth something.

I fell for the mystery shopping “$75 An Hour To Shop And Eat” advertisement and lived to tell about it. Now, first things first – some people do make a fairly decent part-time or less income by mystery shopping. From what I have found, it isn’t very sustainable over a long period of time and there is a whole lot more to it than just shopping and eating.

Had I known about “I’ve Tried That” before I started my mystery shopping trek, I would not have paid for a list of mystery shoppers (see that piece of advice here). Unfortunately, I did spend the extra money to get a list of companies that hire mystery shoppers.

Lesson One- check the web BEFORE you buy something. If I had done a little bit more research, I would have seen tons of lists for free.

Then, I started applying to mystery shopping companies. I spent hours typing in all my information and typing long sample reviews for each and every company.

Lesson Two – be prepared! I didn’t have a sample review ready ahead of time and didn’t realize going into the application process that almost every company asks for a sample. After a few applications, I saved one and reused it with a few modifications depending on what each company wanted.

When I was finally allowed to see the jobs available in my area, I definitely did not find jobs that paid $75 an hour! It was more along the lines of $5 or $6 per hour.

For instance, I signed up for a job to get paid $10 to “mystery shop” at a certain local dollar store. I had to find certain items, check the bathrooms and the store for cleanliness, talk with an employee about a pre-scripted question, lay eyes on the manager if possible and make a $5 or less purchase. The shopping part takes about an hour. Since I am the stay-at-home mom they have targeted with their ads, I brought the kids along so the shopping took an hour and a half! (I have four and they are very well-behaved.)

In the car, I would very quickly write down everything I saw and all the answers to the questions they gave me. If I would have written it while shopping, I’d run the risk of giving away the secret. Once I returned home, I had a certain length of time by which to enter all the information into their computer system via the internet or else not get paid for the endeavor. Filling out the forms with facts and opinions and comments takes at the very least an hour and a half, if not two or three hours sometimes.

To bring it all home, I spent at least 3 hours between shopping and providing opinions and got paid $10 plus a $5 item. $15 divided by 3 hours is $5 an hour. If you are not a stay-at-home mom, it might be worth it. For me, many times it was just so much work for not much pay.

Lesson Three – weigh it all in the balance. What is your time worth? I could have been doing something fun with my kids during those three hours. To me, that is worth much more than $5 per hour. I felt like I had wasted my time.

It takes about 4 to 6 weeks for them to deliver the check. This is more of an issue when you sign up to do an $80 dinner. The amount will come out of your pocket, or credit card, first and then they pay you when you have met all the right criteria.

Speaking of the $80 dinner, it sounds like a fine deal, right? If you aren’t looking to put money into your wallet and just on your hips, it’s absolutely fabulous! We were able to eat a few $80 dinners and $70 lunches at a top-notch Italian Ristorante and the food is magnificent. It isn’t a totally relaxing dinner though, because every move the waiter makes is timed. From the time they set down the first drink to the time they refilled it. From the time I ordered the appetizer to the time the appetizer came. From the time the appetizer came to the time the food came. From the time the appetizer came to the time the last dish was cleared. From the time they took the credit card to the time they brought it back. Get the idea?

Once again, when I arrived home, I had about two hours worth of questions to answer and opinions to give. My husband was sound asleep in bed having wonderful dreams about his great Italian meal while I was at the computer! If I spent an hour at the restaurant and two hours filling in forms, I technically got paid about $26 an hour. Unfortunately, I don’t really get to see that money since I already spent it on food. Now, don’t get me wrong, the food was great and it is a “free” meal – a free meal with three hours of work put into it. But, the gas company doesn’t care that I had a great meal, they want me to pay the bill!

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are quite a bit of competition out there for mystery shopping jobs. You might find one that sounds SO worth it – like a weekend stay at a hotel! The competition is usually so quick, there are 10 applications for the same job before you even click “submit” on yours! I was able to find several like that and was never able to land one.

Overall, you could have some really nice meals and buy a few things on someone else’s tab. But, if you are looking to make some great money, look somewhere else. Joe and Steve at “I’ve Tried That” have compiled a great list of viable money-making options.

We've compiled our top three methods of making money online in this post. This is one you'll want to read all the way through.

We receive the following question on a near daily basis: “I don’t really have any experience working from home, but I just want to pick up some extra work to pull in some part time cash. Do you have any recommendations?”

Lucky for you, I have the answer to this question. I’ve compiled our top three ways of making money from home into this single post. We’ve tried the following programs and can personally vouch for their effectiveness in terms of making money online.

1. Niche Blitzkrieg

Michael Brown has developed the Niche Blitzkrieg system to help beginners quickly and easily generate multiple streams of income online. Niche Blitzkrieg teaches you how to create specialized, targeted websites and how to make money off of them. It is beginner friendly and assumes you have no prior experience with online marketing. Every aspect of Niche Blitzkrieg is explained in detail, complete with pictures and video tutorials.

After you build and develop your websites, they will continue to pull income long after you’ve created them. I know what you’re thinking, “Websites? There’s no way in hell I could ever setup my own website.” Well, you’re wrong. With Niche Blitzkrieg, anyone can setup a website and I mean ANYONE. I’ve seen some of the most computer illiterate people follow Niche Blitzkrieg and have their first website fully up and running in under a couple of hours. Be sure to check out Niche Blitzkrieg. It’s one of the few ways you can make money online and have fun doing so.

Click here for more information on Niche Blitzkrieg.

2. Wealthy Affiliate

Wealthy Affiliate is an outstanding training program that delivers everything you will need to know in order to become a successful online affiliate marketer. Your job as an affiliate marketer will be to align online consumers with the products that they are looking to buy. Do this successfully and you will earn commissions from the sales.

Wealthy Affiliate has built a program designed with the complete novice in mind. You need no prior experience or technical knowledge to become an affiliate marketer as you will be taught everything you need to know along the way.

Wealthy Affiliate is the best training program we’ve come across online. Hands down. We use many of the techniques taught by Wealthy Affiliate to generate thousands of dollars each month here at I’ve Tried That. We are living proof to the effectiveness of this program.

3. Start Your Own Blog

If you are serious about wanting to make money online, you need to start your own Web site. A blog is an easy way to do that. You will then learn to draw traffic to your blog and then turn that traffic into money.

Scared of starting your very own blog? Well, don’t be because I will setup your blog absolutely free. That’s right. I’ll get your blog up and running at no cost to you. All you need to do is order hosting by following my easy-to-use, detailed (with pictures!) guide and I’ll setup your blog and show you how I make money online and how you can do the same. Again, at no cost to you.

Be extra cautious when looking for jobs in your local classified ads. I suggest staying away from the "home-based" or "home business" section.

Back in the day, way back when I was Steve’s age, we didn’t go to the Internet to look for a part time job or extra income. We went to our local paper’s classified ads section.

You young punks won’t believe it, but we all used to read these things called newspapers. They were delivered to your home daily and contained local and national news and advertisements. And get this—they were printed on paper. No, really!

They had this section called the classfied ads where you could buy and sell just about anything. Even more unbelievable: we used to pay the newspaper to list our ad for whatever we were selling, like our record players and 8-track tapes and perambulators. (True story: My 8-yr-old son asked me a couple of weeks ago if they had electricity when I was growing up.)

Those classified ads were good places to find jobs. Oh, sure, there was an occasional envelope-stuffing scam, but nothing like today’s online classifieds.

The Internet has brought the world to our fingertips and created untold new ways to make money. Unfortunately, it has also created a bazillion ways for other people to take your money.

Today’s Online Classified Ads Are a Jungle

You no longer have to pay to list an ad. Maybe that’s why job ads are so full of junk. If people had to pay to list their junk, they’d think twice. Home-based jobs sections are particularly nasty.

Take a popular local classifed site as an example. For the Salt Lake valley, this is the online equivalent of a local paper’s classified ads. This section is the home-based business/network marketing section.

If you would like to make six figures per year, if you want daily pay guaranteed, or you want to take back your life, or you want to be in front of an $18-billion wave, or you are a driven, honest, searching individual, this is the place for you. Just look at all the opportunities! With all these PROVEN systems for making money, why is anyone struggling financially? There’s no excuse for being broke! (Psst! Hey, you. Yeah, you. The one who’s all steamed up getting ready to write to me. Keep your shirt on. That was snark.)

Here are a couple of things I’ve learned in my relatively short time watching the work-at-home industry. People who are successful don’t need overstated classified ads. Real opportunities don’t chase you, you have to chase them. They might call your name once or twice, but it’s sotto voce and then they move on. They certainly don’t shout in your face.

I haven’t tested this scientifically, but I’m pretty sure there is a direct correlation between the number of capital letters and exclamation points in an ad or sales page and its level of scummy scamminess. The more flashy colors and images, the less truth the opportunity contains.

Have you bought our ebook yet? It’s only ten bucks, fer cryin’ out loud. It shows you where to find real work-at-home jobs and how to separate the junk ads from the legitimate work. (Most of the jobs it shows you how to find are in writing and editing, coding, graphic design, and other computer-intensive fields. It’s probably not for you if your computer skills stop at browsing the Internet.)

Because it’s Saturday and the sun is finally shining here, I’m in a giving mood. I’ll give a free copy of our book to you if you made it to the end of this post and are one of the first five readers to email me and ask for one. Write me up: joe[at]ivetriedthat[dot]com.

You can make money viewing and clicking ads. Surprise! The concept is nothing new and I’m sure plenty of you are actively engaging in a similar program right now. Well, YouData is bringing something new to the table and they are currently paying quite well.

Information about YouData

As far as I can tell, YouData is a fairly new company that will pay you to view, then click on ads. You create a “MeFile” which includes personal detail about you and your interests and YouData will serve up ads based on your responses in your MeFile. Their current rates are surprisingly high. You get paid 5 cents to view a banner ad, and you’re shown 5 at a time. You’re then paid 15 cents every time you click on one of the ads. This process takes about 45 seconds and will earn you a dollar. Sure, it’s not a lot of money, but how often are you paid $1.00 for 45 seconds of your time? I’d be willing to bet, not that often.

The interface of the program is fairly slick and you can see the actual ad block used if you look to the right of this posting (Reading this in your email? Click here to visit the post.) If you’ve signed up and created an account already, you can view your ads here at I’ve Tried That and even opt to pay us a small percentage of your earnings as a thank you. Of course you can keep it all for yourself, but feel free to give back to us at any time.

Payments are issued every Friday and are sent out via Paypal. You can also convert your earnings into iTunes and Amazon gift cards, or donate them directly to charity. I have yet to come across anyone complaining about not getting paid by YouData and I fully expect my earnings to be deposited come Friday.

My Experience with YouData

Well, I joined yesterday and made $2.29 in about two minutes. I have viewed and clicked on all of the available ads, and have anxiously been awaiting for more to arrive. But, it is now 24 hours later and nothing is waiting for me.

The good news is that I’ve been a member for 24 hours and haven’t received a single unwanted or spam email from YouData or any of their advertisers. YouData insists that your personal information is your personal information and they don’t have the right to sell off your privacy. Shocked to hear about an advertising company interested in protecting your information? I am too.

I recommend joining YouData. It seems like a fairly solid program for the time being and at worst, you’ll spend about a few minutes making a couple of dollars that will be paid to you on Friday. After you join, come back to I’ve Tried That and share your experiences in the comments below. I’d love to know what you guys think of this one.

I applied yesterday to become a special agent for KGB. This entails responding to incoming text messages with answers to their questions. The pay isn’t great, but hey, money is money. Sort of.

THE KGB Response

After completing the special agent training quiz yesterday, I was told to sit tight while they evaluated my application. Well, they finally responded today, and the response isn’t what I had hoped for.

Hi there,

Great work on passing the Special Agents Challenge! We’re impressed.

The next step in the process to become a Special Agent is Training. However, at this time, all Training classes are full.

We are carefully balancing text volumes with agent scheduling to find the perfect coverage mix. This ensures that our Special Agents remain busy fielding questions (and making money!) when logged in. As additional coverage is needed, we will open up additional Training classes.

Thanks for your patience. We will be back in touch to invite you to Training as soon as we are ready for you. Stay tuned!

Special Agents Training

I suppose part of me knew I wasn’t going to be immediately accepted into their program. For now, I’ll resume playing the waiting game until some free space opens up. If you’re at all interested in becoming a secret agent for KGB (click here to read yesterday’s post about it) then I suggest you get in your application today. Who knows when they’ll start accepting new contractors.

KGB has opened their doors as is paying regular people (like you) to answer questions from their homes. You receive a question via text message online and seek out the answer and get paid for doing so.

The title may sound familiar to some of our long-time readers. We’ve reviewed a similar program a few months ago that operated along the same lines. That program was ChaCha. Unfortunately, they’ve since closed their doors to new workers. Lucky for you, KGB has opened theirs and is paying regular people (like you) to answer questions from their homes.

What is KGB?

The Knowledge Generation Bureau or KGB is a service that allows you to text any question to the number 542542 and get an answer. The system is entirely similar to the popular service ChaCha. The major difference is that KGB charges 99 cents to answer a question, while ChaCha is entirely free. KGB doesn’t come outright and state that they will charge you. In fact, I saw no mention of being charged until I dug around their terms of use.

Nevermind that, you aren’t interested in asking questions, but rather getting paid to answer them. Well, KGB wants you. They are hiring Work at Home Special Agents to take incoming queries and respond with the correct answer. There are a few requirements though. You need to be over 18, a US citizen, and have broadband Internet access. Aside from that, you should be knowledgeable on how to find the answers to pretty much any question through various Internet resources. Click here for more information on becoming a work at home agent for KGB.

To apply to become a KGB Special Agent, you need to take the Special Agents Challenge and you can do so by clicking here. The challenge will ask you a series of questions and grade you on the number of right and wrong answers. I passed it my first time through, but you can take it as many times as you like. It isn’t entirely difficult, but it does determine if your eligibility to become a secret agent. After completing the test, you have to hold tight until they contact you via email with information as to when you can start working.

How much can you make?

KGB offers their secret agents 10 cents per full response and 5 cents per validation response. A full response consists of you researching a question and providing an answer while a validation response requires you to look over an automated response to ensure that it is correct

I worked with ChaCha for about two weeks and earned roughly $10 an hour. Given the amount of work I had to do for $10 an hour it was hardly worth it. Now, for someone who is in dire need of cash, $10 an hour may sound like a god-send. Well, it’s unlikely you’ll hit the $10/hour mark as a Special Agent with KGB. I’d estimate you could probably earn between $4 and $6 per hour. While this isn’t exactly a lavish income, you could still earn some side cash each month.

As of this writing, I applied to become an agent approximately 3 hours ago, but I have yet to hear back from KGB. I’ll keep you guys posted on the status of my application. Until then, do we have any KGB workers here at I’ve Tried That? What has your experience been like working for them?
