Can a program really teach you how to go from a brand new Twitter account to one that has thousands of followers and makes money for you? I don't know, but I intend to find out.

On Monday, I talked about a new scam that was targeting the Twitter brand name. Well, this had me thinking. If there are scams targeting Twitter, surely there might be a way to make money off of Twitter? Well, I did my research and found a number of useful links all talking about how to turn your existing Twitter account into something that might make money for you. That’s just great if you already have an established Twitter account with thousands of followers. But, what if you’re completely new to the Twitter scene? How quickly can you go from nothing to a Twitter superstar? I intend to find out.

Twitter Affiliate Cash

Bill McRae is the owner and creator of a product called Twitter Affiliate Cash. Bill makes the claim that he can take a new or stagnant account and turn it into an affiliate money making machine within two weeks.

Members of the Twitter Affiliate Cash program will be taught how to target users and build a strong base of followers. He claims to be able to teach you how to grow your followers automatically and build “Twitter loyalty” so that your followers trust what you have to say. He then claims that once you have a lot of followers, he’ll teach you how to subtly sell to them in a way that won’t compromise the trust you’ve built for yourself.

These are some pretty hefty claims Bill makes. But nonetheless, I’m interested.

Other Perks about Twitter Affiliate Cash

These are just a few things I’ve noticed about the presell page:

No hidden fees. The program costs $27 upfront and that’s it. There’s no recurring monthly memberships or anything like that. One time payment.

There is contact information. And it isn’t hidden among the legal jargon buried deep within the terms and conditions. Bill makes it very easy to contact him.

60-Day guaranteed refund. No questions asked. You don’t have to prove you even tried the system. If you bought it and don’t like it. Return it for a full refund.

No ridiculous claims. Bill doesn’t make bullshit claims on his earnings in order to make a sale. In fact, the presell page has a screen shot of his earnings as an affiliate and it shows close to $300 earned in about a months time.

Honesty on a presell page speaks volumes. I was most excited to see Bill’s earnings. They weren’t a lot by any means, but if his $27 system can have me earning an extra $300 each month, I might as well go for it. I sent Bill my $27 and I’ll be reviewing his videos today. I plan on starting a brand new Twitter account for testing purposes to see if I can truly make money with this system.

For now, you’ll have to wait for an update. Updates will include the number of people I’m following, the number following me, and things like how many people are clicking the links I post and if any of them are turning into a sale. I will keep this as transparent as possible without giving away my Twitter username. I don’t want my status at I’ve Tried That to skew or affect the results of my study in any way. Until the first update, you can also check out Twitter Affiliate Cash yourself by clicking here.

PS. Niche Blitzkrieg update coming soon for those waiting.

We've been taking a look at Niche Blitzkrieg these past few days. We've offered a preview up to this point, but here is our full review after spending a few days examining the program.

I’ll be honest. I rarely come across a program that I’m excited to try. It’s true. Most of the time, I dread reviewing new programs, seeing as a lot of requests we receive are the same program just masked as something else. But this time it’s different. I found myself excited to try the Niche Blitzkrieg program. I think we may have finally found something that will work for everybody.

What is the Niche Blitzkrieg System?

The Niche Blitzkrieg system was developed by Michael Brown, a veteran on teaching others how to make money online. The focal point behind Niche Blitzkrieg is that you will be researching popular trends and niches in the world today and then building a website to cater to this trend or niche. In doing so, you will attract visitors from search engines and then make money through advertisements placed on your website.

Does the idea of creating websites scare you? I know a lot of you are probably thinking that there’s no way in hell you could ever setup your very own website. Well, knock it off. The truth is that creating a website these days is very, very easy. In fact, with the Niche Blitzkrieg system, all of the hard work will automatically be generated for you. If you can manage to type on a keyboard, you’re more than capable of running your own website. Honest.

This program is somewhat newbie friendly. Just “somewhat?” Well, the process of doing keyword research and setting up your sites is explained in layman’s terms, and Michael uses pictures and videos to show you, step-by-step, what you need to do.

It’s only “somewhat” newbie friendly because there are some gaps in the instruction. Someone who is brand new to WordPress and plug-ins will struggle a bit. That’s not to say newbies can’t do it. They most certainly can. But you’ll need to have some stubbornness and persistence to get yourself through the gaps. The Forum looks like a good source of help, though, and Michael is quick to answer questions.

The best part of the program is that positive results are easily duplicated. Once you create your first profitable website, you’ll be able to take the techniques used and repeat them as many times as you possibly can. You’ll find yourself with multiple streams of income that continue to earn money for you long after they’ve been created.

My personal involvement with the program has been great thus far. I’ve been conducting my own niche research these past few days and do have quite a few ideas on where to take them. Sorry, I can’t share them as they are my personal ideas and I don’t want you guys to take the credit for my hard work. I should have a few websites up and running fairly soon though. I suspect my investment into the program and money spent ordering domain names will be made back within less than a month.

We use a lot of similar techniques outlined in Niche Blitzkrieg to make money each month with I’ve Tried That. Seeing as these techniques are proven to work and I’ve seen it happen with my own two eyes on a daily basis, I feel confident in highly recommending the Niche Blitzkrieg program.

Niche Research Commando

The Niche Research Commando is a tool that you can add on to the program at an extra cost. I’ve been using the tool myself over these past couple of days and it has already saved me from spending countless hours on niche research.

The program allows you to view the top ten results in Google for the niche keyword of your choice. These results provide you with valuable information like how the top ten sites use their keywords, how many backlinks a website has, the pagerank of the website and the overall competition you would face if you choose to build a website in this niche. This tool is extremely beneficial to beginners and is very easy to use. Of course, you don’t need to buy the program, but you will end up spending 20 to 30 minutes on a task that takes this program 20 to 30 seconds.

What I Didn’t Like

[Updated on March 23rd, 2009] When I first reviewed Niche Blitzkrieg, I felt that the system was starting to become outdated and skipped over a few essential parts to running a domain. I expressed my concerns to owner Michael Brown and he assured me that an update was coming. Now, we’ve reviewed a lot of programs in the past, and generally the program owners have been cold and unresponsive. Not only did Michael respond to my concerns, but he promised action and boy did he pull through.

My biggest concern was that the system didn’t go in-depth on how to actually get a site up and running. This alone could be enough to scare off any new members as the thought of setting up a domain can be particularly scare your first time around. Well, Michael Brown not only updated the guide used in the system, but has provided full screencasts on how to setup your websites. His teaching is flawless and you will not encounter any issues when following along with his video guides.

Aside from that issue, the rest of the system has been fully updated as well. At this point, I actually can’t find a single thing to complain about, which is a first here at I’ve Tried That.

The Niche Blitzkrieg Bottom Line

Bottom line: if you want to learn a method that will allow you to create multiple streams of income online that continually work for you and make you money, Niche Blitzkrieg is the program to join. It really is a great program and I highly recommend it.

We take our first look at "Free for Seniors," a book and e-book being sold through various outlets. The quick version: I wouldn't buy it. The longer version: I would not buy it even if I were a senior.

A reader wrote to ask us about a book advertisement that recently appeared in the “Lebanon Daily News.” The book is called “Free for Seniors” and the ad apparently included this image. (That’s the only size we have.)

The ad was a mail-in form so that you could buy the book for $14.95 + $4 shipping and handling. You can also buy an ebook of the same title for $17.77. We don’t know if it’s the same book just made digital.

The Cautions

Something doesn’t smell quite right here. First, if the book being sold is the one shown in the image (Is the author “Murray L Broach?”), the book was written in 1977.

Second, the book has several other incarnations: Free Stuff for Seniors, by Matt Lesko and Mary Ann Martello (1998); Free Stuff for Seniors, by Frank Wood (2000); The Book of Free Things for Seniors, by Linda Kalian (2002), and more. What this duplication suggests to me is that the books are cobbled together from readily available, public, free information.

Third, reviews of this type of book at Amazon.com are mostly negative and claim that you have to live in very rural areas or have special needs to qualify for the free government stuff. They also say that the information is freely available online.

To be fair, there are also a couple of positive reviews. Read the good and bad for yourself here.

We’re considering buying the e-book and doing a full-fledged review. Check back later or sign up for e-mail updates to be notified when we do that.

When we find a work-at-home resource we like, we make a lot of noise about it. In Your PJs is an indispensable resource if you want to make money from home. And you don't have to have great computer skills!

I have spent the last three hours reading an e-book about how to work from home that we just discovered. Let me tell you right off the bat—I’m excited about this book. And I don’t get excited about very much in the work-at-home minefield that is the Internet.

I am in a lather over this e-book because it gives you answers to two stubborn problems:

It’s hard to find legitimate jobs.
Our e-book (which is not the one I’ve been reading) helps with this problem by showing you where and how to find real telecommuting jobs. But those jobs require pretty specific skills in writing, coding, design, or more.

What if I don’t have great computer skills?
This is where the new e-book can help. It shows you step by step, practical ways to create your own jobs. No affiliate marketing, no fees up front. Real work, real paychecks.

The book is called In Your PJs: Simple Strategies Anyone Can Use to Work at Home Forever, and if you’re looking for ways to work from home, either as a supplement to your income or as a full-time career, you gotta have it. Get it now because it’s on sale for 20% off the regular price.

An Inside Look at In Your PJs

You know that we hang on to $ around here like a feathers hang onto a chicken. So I hope you believe me when I tell you this book is worth every penny. Here’s what you get when you fork over your hard-earned cash:

A 221-page e-book bursting with outstanding advice and ideas

A Telecommuters Resource Guide: 53 pages of links to tools that will help you get and keep paying clients

Access to the online home business idea tool

What’s In the Book?

Chapter 1: The author’s story. Don’t skip it—it will inspire you.
Chapter 2: The truth about working from home and changing your approach to your search (powerful stuff); personality traits and equipment you need
Chapter 3: Cover letters and resumes
Chapter 4: Where the real jobs are hiding
Chapter 5: The book is worth the purchase price for this chapter alone. It shows you how to fill existing business needs in your area and create your own home business. More detail below.
Chapter 6: How to market yourself to build the business in chapter 5.
Chapter 7: Great-looking templates for cover letters, resumes, flyers, brochures, and more.

More About Chapter 5

I said the book was worth the purchase price for this chapter alone. Here’s why: It teaches you how to create your own at-home business by filling an existing need that businesses around you have right now. Here are some of the business ideas that come out of those needs:

Provide “Company watch” research services

Provide Paper Management services to local small businesses

Provide a specialized typing service to local colleges and universities

Compile database of targeted leads for companies to use for their sales and marketing efforts

Become an Internet Press Release Agent

Specialize in preparing materials for trade shows and conferences

Provide monthly bookkeeping service subscriptions to local businesses

Offer recruiter assistant services. Specialize in locating and filtering resumes for recruiters

Specialize in generating sales leads for companies

And many, many more

And they aren’t just ideas. You’ll get detailed instructions on how to set up each business.

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

Choose not to participate in the recession by taking control of your work status. You can start today by learning how to find work at home jobs, and more important, how to create work you can do from home. There is no need to wait for a job to land in your lap—go out and make it happen! In Your PJs will convince you it can be done and will show you how. And there’s a 90-day guarantee. Check it out by clicking here.

Okay, I think I very well may have uncovered the greatest scam of all. This website is heavily promoting an eBook that supposedly teaches it’s readers how to find real work at home jobs. Given the nature of these claims, I’d like to send one of our readers in to take a look and report their findings. I suspect many of you who are reading this have already fell victim to their claims and purchased the book without our thorough review. For this reason, we won’t be spending money to send any new secret agents in, but rather, if you’ve already signed up and have a story to tell, we want to hear it.

The eBook that we’re placing under fire is The Complete I’ve Tried That Guide to Telecommuting. They are making outlandish claims that anyone can find real work at home jobs online and easily make an extra $200/month at least doing freelance work. We thought that we’ve seen everything folks, but this book just takes the cake.

Take for example this excerpt from their presale page:

Yes, you’ve read that correctly. We’re not promising you thousands of dollars for no work because we know that offers that make those kinds of promises are usually dishonest. Instead, we just promise to teach you how to find genuine jobs online.

We teach you about the entire process of finding a telecommuting job, including resumes, where/how to find real jobs, and how to communicate with potential employers. No gimmicks. We’ll simply show you how to use various online resources to find legitimate jobs.

You need to break the notion that you will become richer than your wildest dreams by doing data entry online. It’s simply unrealistic. But adding an extra $200 or so to your budget every month is not only realistic, it’s relatively easy if you have some marketable computer skills.

I’ve been in this business for a few years now and these claims are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. We’re desperately seeking honest reviews from any of our readers to expose the madness behind this eBook. So please, if you have any information regarding The Complete I’ve Tried That Guide to Telecommuting that we can use, post it in the comments section below, or send us an email. Until then, I’ll sit here and anxiously await our first reader response.

Good luck and God speed.

It’s refreshing to see an ebook (other than ours) that delivers on its promise to give you lots of resources for finding work-at-home jobs. After all the crap out there that Steve and I have spent time and energy trying to expose, we’re happy to say of someone else’s book (other than ours), “This is well worth your time and money.”

The Little White Ebook of Homeshoring Jobs: Your Complete Guide to Virtual Call Center Employment in North America, “the ebook” from here on, delivers an exhaustively researched list of virtual call center opportunities. It’s based on a simple premise, as stated on the presell page:

Homeshoring is the latest trend to sweep the corporate world – in fact, hundreds of employers have brought their call centers home to the U.S., literally. Rather than outsourcing to India, many call centers have found that it’s more economical and customer-friendly to outsource right here at home.
If you’re interested in working at home full or part-time with a viable career – look no further. We’ve done the research, complete with Better Business Bureau Reports, average wages, typical schedules, job application information – everything you could possibly need to know to apply and get a job from one of hundreds of virtual employers.

214 Pages?! What’s in them?
Remember our review, augmented by information from the Masked Guru, of the Ultimate Wealth Package “ebook?” It was 24 pages, filled mostly with fluff. The Little White Ebook, by contrast, is 214 pages of solid information. Here’s how it’s broken down:

Pages 1-8: Frontmatter (title page, table of contents, how to use the book)

Pages 9-23: Introduction to Homeshoring, including these headings: Who hires virtual call center agents (and why?), The sung and unsung benefits of working from home, The pitfalls of working for virtual call centers, Preparing for the virtual application process, Writing your virtual resume, Things to keep in mind when applying for virtual call center jobs, The virtual call center checklist, Acing the virtual job interview, Acing the voice audition

Pages 24-204: Employer pages (see details below)

Pages 205-214: Resources section, listing all the research sources used to compile the book and employer list.

The Heart of the Book: Employer Pages
This book confronts the hardest issue faced by anyone who wants to work at home: Where do you find the jobs? Unlike some other companies (ahem, 39companies.com), however, this ebook includes links to employers’ employment pages, the main page, the BBB report if applicable, and more information when available. Here’s a snapshot of one employer page so you can see how clean the presentation is and how thorough the information:

There are almost 200 such pages, enough companies to keep you in work for as long as you want. The Little White Ebook simply has no equal when it comes to telling you exactly where to find jobs.

One caution: remember, as it’s clearly stated in the subtitle of the ebook, these jobs are for virtual call centers. Many of the job descriptions we looked at require experience in customer service, and many also require specialized equipment, such as a telephone headset and in one case, a corded telephone. If you’re looking for that kind of job, these will not be obstacles to you. But if you want to work at home in some other industry besides phone-based customer service, the Little White Ebook is not for you.

Aside from lists of potential employers, the ebook does offer a few pointers on how to break into the work at home world. These pointers range from the necessary equipment required to how to approach these companies in a professional manner. Truly useful information that you can’t really find anywhere else (although, we do offer such information in our ebook and I’m really not trying to plug it so much, but they’re very similar in this regard. I suggest buying both.)

All in all, the Little White Ebook of Homeshoring Jobs: Your Complete Guide to Virtual Call Center Employment in North America is a great resource and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to enter the work at home world. Forget about making $20 a month by having others spend money, you can learn how to get paid, in regular intervals, for work you complete and it’s all done from the comfort of your own home.

Last week when I announced that our next review would be 39companies.com, alert reader Bob said:

It basically lists parties that allegedly pay per unit or pay per piece/batch for craftwork. Trouble is, for most of these companies/parties, only the address/PO box is listed. No contact numbers, no emails. You have to snail mail to them to ask for details. Other things include being a freelance agent doing the administrative work for people claiming their ‘unclaimed assets’. A similat ebook can be downloaded free off the Internet.

Bob is exactly right. For our $8, we got a Word-document-PDF’d to look like an “ebook” 13 pages long (including front and back covers, intro page and table of contents). It includes the following lists:

Bead jobs

Sewing jobs

Assembly jobs

Business Opportunities, which includes “Sell Electronic Alarm Warning System Decals, Wood Toy Starter Kits, Start Your Own Clothing Business, Start your Own Plastercraft Manufacturing Business, and other similar “opportunities.” I wonder why they didn’t include starting your own hotel chain? That’s an opportunity, isn’t it? My personal favorite is “Independent Pantyhose Profiteer.” There’s something vaguely pirate-ish and forbidden about it, like I’m not sure if I would do this work in Adult Fetish stores or department stores.

Like Bob said, all of the job opportunities include only snail mail information and an occasional phone number. The first phone number I tried was disconnected. I got a recording on the second, but it was for the business it was supposed to be for. Lots of the jobs tell you to send a self-addressed stamped envelope and some money for a sample. Again, a personal favorite:

For a free starter kit, which contains all supplies and instructions along with a finished assembled sample Angel Pin, send $6.

Oh, and the Bonuses!
39companies.com sent three bonus ebooks with my order (in .exe files!?). They were:

eBay Secrets 2002

Book 2: Repairing Your Credit Score 2002

Book 3: Wholesale in 2002

Thanks, 39companies.com! Do you also have some used toilet paper available at a discount? How about “Hot Stocks for 1998?” That would be just about as useful.

Are You Crafty?
These kids of jobs are not for me. I’ll go out on a limb here and say that the right person with the right skills and tools (a hot glue gun?) might be able to find legitimate work. Is that person you? If so, let me know. Maybe I can toss you a name or two.

We’ve been busy here at I’ve Tried That, what with promoting our own e-book and throwing up some affiliate links to help you avoid the horror of post-Thanksgiving shopping. But we’re anxious to get back to our core principle: trying out online programs and letting you know what we think. Our next review will be on 39companies.com, as requested by Teresa, a sharp-eyed I’ve Tried That reader. We’ve purchased the ebook and will give a no-nonsense review in the next couple of days.

Out of all the possible ebooks we could review, why this one? Well, we’re intrigued by the promise on its presell page:

You will NOT need to any of the following:

NO Email Answering

NO Data Entry

NO Affiliate Program

NO Dealing With People

NO Money Involved

NO Website Needed

NO Postcard/Letter Mailing

NO Phone Calling

NO Promoting

NO Buying

So that leaves what, exactly? Pay per click? for $1,000 per week? Based on what I know about Internet incomes, swearing off those things eliminates every online income-producing method. (See Six Requirements for Making Money Online for why that’s the case.) So maybe this ebook author has some secret that she’s going to let us in on for $8. I doubt it, but would like to be proven wrong.

I’ve Tried That is proud to present its first ever interview. Joe is one of the authors for the soon-to-be-released e-book, The Complete I’ve Tried That Guide to Telecommuting.Any views expressed are those of the interviewee and do not necessarily reflect the views of I’ve Tried That, its subsidiaries, partners, or God.

ITT: Welcome, and thanks for sitting down with us.
Joe: No problem. [Tap, tap] Is this thing on? Steve usually does these media things.
ITT: Yeah, we asked for Steve, but his people said he had engagements.
Joe: “His people?” Steve has people?
ITT: I guess so. The message said, “The Stevemeister regrets that he cannot comply with your request due to scheduling conflicts.”
Joe: Huh. You must have asked for a slot during his happy time.
ITT: Can we move along?
Joe: I don’t have people. Is he paying for people out of I’ve Tried That funds?
ITT: We don’t know anything about that. We just have a couple of questions…
Joe: I bet he has his own stationery, too, damnit. I said I wanted that and he’s all “What for? It’s a BLOG. We don’t use paper.” And I said, yeah but it’s cool but he nixed it. I bet he went and ordered it for himself.
ITT: Joe, thanks for agreeing to talk to us about your ebook.
Joe: Yeah, sure.
ITT: Why are you launching an ebook?
Joe: Because we get e-mails all the time from people asking for help in finding genuine work-from-home jobs. This book is our answer to that call for help.
ITT: How will it help those people?
Joe: It will teach readers how to avoid junk ads, where to find real jobs, and how to land the job. Even if you don’t have your own personalized stationery, like Steve.
ITT: How is it different from all the other make money online ebooks?
Joe: Our book is all about jobs, not Web-based marketing. Predictable work, predictable paychecks.
ITT: When will the book be available?
Joe: We’re in the final 72 hours of the countdown.
ITT: In some of the early posts at I’ve Tried That, you and Steve both mocked ebooks saying they were all the same. Steve swore he’d never write one. So why now? What makes your ebook different?
Joe: Well, Tom, I’m glad you asked.
ITT: My name’s not Tom.
Joe: That’s okay, I’m still glad you asked. We decided to write this book because we see a real need. Tons of people are looking for ways to make some money working from home, but when they go online searching for it, they get nothing but scams and junk “opportunities.” And—
ITT: Isn’t that why you started I’ve Tried That?
Joe: —which is why we started I’ve Tried That. We wanted to create a place where people could go for first-hand information about all of these programs. You know, the real scoop instead of some affiliate marketer’s ass-kissing to sell more data entry job kits.
ITT: So why a book? If you’re already doing it with the blog, why a separate book?
Joe: Because people don’t read all of the content on the blog. Our traffic comes from search engines. People who are searching on the name of a specific program. They come to our site, read that particular review, then move on. They don’t see all of the other great information about working at home. The ebook brings all of that stuff together into a convenient form.
ITT: Wait a minute. So all that’s in the book is what’s already on the blog?
Joe: No. Bits and pieces are there, but the book expands on and clarifies those ideas. It nurtures the seeds, if you will, into tall, healthy plants.
ITT: Lovely.
Joe: Thanks, I thought of that myself. If Steve didn’t have “people” making his decisions, he’d see that I’m worth more than he’s paying me.
ITT: Look, internal personnel matters at I’ve Tried That are really none of my business, and you’re kind of making me uncomfortable.
Joe: Well, if you can’t run with the big dogs, you should stay off the ice.
ITT: Huh?
Joe: Never mind.
ITT: So the book…it purports to teach people how to work from home.
Joe: Not “purports.” That’s what it does.
ITT: It allegedly teaches people to make money working from home.
Joe: “Allegedly?” What are you, a government investigator? This is a terrible interview. Who hired you, anyway? Steve, no doubt.
ITT: You did.
Joe: Then why aren’t you saying what I told you? There’s no “alleged” or “purport.” It teaches people how to work at home.
ITT: Fine. What kind of money are we talking about?
Joe: That’s what’s beautiful about it. We’re not promising riches or pie in the sky. We’re talking about part time income. A couple hundred bucks a month at minimum with consistent effort.
ITT: Sounds life changing.
Joe: No, it isn’t. Aren’t you listening? It just means folks will have money to pay all the bills instead of just some of them. They’ll eat less Mac-n-cheese and more … whatever is the opposite of Mac-n-cheese. They could sock the cash away and use it as a really small pillow. It’s a supplement to their income.
ITT: Wow, with a couple hundred extra per month, I could buy a new PS2 in like three months.
Joe: Ok, but more important, a couple hundred extra per months might mean a Mom somewhere could quit her job at Wal-Mart and stay home with her baby. That’s what keeps me going. I can’t speak to what motivates Steve. A guy with personalized stationery is probably more egotistical than me. Go ask his “people.”

I’ve Tried That reader Susie, who likes to attend nude soccer games, (inside joke; just kidding, Susie) suggested we take a look at honestriches.com. In her words,

I see this program and the woman’s name popping up everywhere, which of course, makes you wonder if it’s legit or not. When I’ve searched on it I find the same “review” cut and pasted into a million different places so there’s red flags galore, outside of the usual web page with huge fonts and lots of colors. I’ve also found other reviews that were positive, so now I’m intrigued.

Susie’s curiosity shows that the presell page is doing its job. It’s supposed to provoke strong emotions in you so that you’ll take a chance on the dream you’re being sold (easy income), and purchase the book, product, or program that’s going to deliver it to you. The people who write these presell pages are good at what they do; if you read the entire page, you might really feel a desire to buy whatever it’s selling.

Instead of doing a thorough insider’s review of honestriches.com, I’m going to lump it in with lots of other offers for ebooks that promise to teach you how to make money online. In our experience, they’re all very much the same and offer the same advice, which is worth very little. So consider this a review of honestriches.com, richjerk, dayjobkiller (which Steve reviewed in greater detail here), and an untold number of similar programs. They’re all interchangeable, so the names hardly matter. Note to ebook writers: We would LOVE to write a positive review of a “make money online” ebook or program. But your presell page has to convince us that you have something new to offer. No one has yet done that.

The “how to make money online” ebook is so common that I’d even call it a phenomenon, one that literally blankets the Internet. Do you ever feel like everyone’s making money online but you? It’s apparently so easy that your grandma can do it and if you’re not, well, you must be stupid. Some presell pages even go so far as to say so.

Honestriches has many of the hallmarks of such a page: the purported picture of the author, who can now stay at home with her kid because of the techniques she’ll teach you, the testimonials, the highlighted text. To her credit, this page is less obnoxious than many but it fails to convince me that it has something to contribute that I can’t find elsewhere for free. Here are a few of its selling points; they could be the selling points of almost any other ebook available, and much of the information can be easily accessed without the ebook:

A no-nonsense, easy to understand guide

Learn EXACTLY what keywords people are typing in Google, Yahoo and other major search engines every day

A detailed guide to SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Info about top-paying affiliate programs

Full chapter on creating & selling your own e-book online

Money-back guarantee!

I want to point out here that most ebooks and “how to make money online programs” feature a pitch about how they pay generous affiliate commissions; selling the program you just bought is apparently an important part of Internet success. This one goes a step further: it will show you how to write and sell your own ebook, something Steve has been threatening to do for as long as I’ve known him.

I won’t go so far as to call honestriches.com a scam. In fact, I’d like to endorse it (something about the author being a mom and an ex-soldier on disability, maybe). But I also see nothing to set it apart from the <strike>dozens</strike> <strike>hundreds</strike> many that are scams.
