Old-Computers.com isn’t hiring people to ship equipment.

The second a job ad mentions you handling a check, it’s a scam. Guaranteed.

Craigslist is a breeding ground for fake job scams. If you aren’t careful, you could sign yourself up for a “job” that could cost you thousands of dollars, make you lose your identity, and can even land you with a criminal record.

Case in point…

Now, Old-Computers.com is a legitimate website where they look at and catalog, well, old computers. Unfortunately, these scammers are just using their name and likeness to run a fake work at home scam. It appears that they had a problem in the past as well.

As for the scam, it’s just another fake check scam. They mail you a fake check that can be deposited, then you ship off thousands of dollars in electronics overseas only to have the check bounce a few days later leaving you responsible to cover the costs.

Stay far, far away.

There was quite a few warning flags in the email shown. It was amazing the poor grammar and other errors in the emails.
For example: 1: “and add up the company screen name”… what the heck is “add up”?
2: They mention that ‘he’ would like an interview with you but they give a female contact name.
3: “You have to keep strict record” Don’t they mean keep ‘a’ strict record?
4: A time sheet should be sent in every Friday’s days” When is Friday’s days?
5: Online training pay is $18 per hour in one section of the email and $24 per hour in another part of the email.
6: get these equipments. delivery of these equipmets. Errors, errors, errors!
I would run away from those scammers.

I got the EXACT email. It’s a load of crap. They want to pay for me to get a whole new home office so that I can do the job??? WTF. Like the computer I’m using isn’t able to do the same thing.. hahahaha. And I REALLY need a new desk and file cabinet? Mmm hmmm….

These people are idiots. They also have HORRIBLE spelling and grammar. Chatting online with them is actually quite amusing.
