I've Tried That - We lose money so you don't have to!

We know that you can find hundreds of online reviews of Wealthy Affiliate. 99% of them are positive. Maybe that’s because 99% of them are selling Wealthy Affiliate (WA).

So we know that we have to take extra care to make our review useful by giving you what you really need to make a decision about Wealthy Affiliate: an insider’s view by someone who is working the program. (And yes, we are affiliates of WA. In other words, we’re selling it, too. But we hope the inside view will show you we’re not just blowing smoke.)

That’s what we do. We signed up about 10 days ago and are working our way through the amazing quantity of material. It’s no wonder the official name is “Wealthy Affiliate University.” This takes a lot of study and work.

Starting From Scratch

So I’m going to put myself in your shoes. Let’s pretend my wife’s employer is facing tough times and I need to bring in some more money because our household income is about to take a hit.

I go to the Google and search the tubes and try out a few things, get scammed a few times, lose some money. And finally someone convinces me to try affiliate marketing and I sign up for Wealthy Affiliate to learn how to do it. I know nothing. What will I see to help me get started?

The 8-Week Action Plan

The first time I log in, I see a big arrow that points me to a button on the left navigation panel: Start Here.

Oh, good. I don’t have to just click around to figure out what to do. I know that I should start right there.

You have probably heard the coined phrase “If you do not know where you are going, how are you going to get there?” This applies to Internet marketing just as much as any other business, and you will learn very quickly that if you do not have a plan in place, you are setting yourself up for failure.

Your First Week

During my first week, I’m going to learn what affiliate marketing is and how WA helps me do it. And I’m going to learn the all-important lesson of how to use WA. Here’s what my Week 1 introduction says:

This week we are going to go through some of the basics, and take some steps that will help you understand what is offered at Wealthy Affiliate. We are going to show you how you can take full advantage of the resources, tools, and support that are available for you to use to create a successful business online.

Our goals this week are to teach you how the Wealthy Affiliate community will turn you into an expert Internet marketer. If you are truly willing to work at it, you will become a very profitable marketer. First you need to understand how our resources, tools, and support can benefit you, and this week we are going to walk you through some of the features here at WA!

And the first week’s lesson ends with six simple tasks that I know even I can do.
