The FTC has released three anti-phishing videos to help educate those more on how to spot the scams. If you don’t already know by now, ‘phishing’ is the act of tricking someone into giving out their personal information. It’s a scam — and it involves Internet fraudsters who send spam or pop-up messages to lure personal information (credit card numbers, bank account information, Social Security number, passwords, or other sensitive information) from unsuspecting victims. The three videos are located below. The script is terrible, the jokes aren’t funny, and the acting leaves plenty to be desired. However, despite all of this, the information is correct and will probably save a few people from falling victim to phishing scams.
