I’ve heard a lot of buzz revolving around the program Build a Niche Store or BANS as it’s more commonly known. The premise behind the software is that it will create a fully functional eBay store in less than 10 minutes. You don’t need any prior technical knowledge as everything is automated and it comes with a very detailed user manual. The detailed manual will show you how to setup your own domain, configure a host, and get the software working properly.

The biggest downfall here is the startup fee, which includes the software for $97, a domain name for your store for around $8-$10, and finally hosting, which can cost anywhere from $4.95 to $24.95 depending on who you get to host your site. However, people are claiming to have made over $100 in their first week using this software. I’ll spend $97 now to continually make $100 for the next few weeks to come.

Thus, begins my journey of using the BANS software. I’ll be documenting my full use with the program, along with any affiliate sales or commissions. Updates will come on a semi-regular basis and will be given in new posts. I’ll kick off my full review with a bit of an introduction.

2/1/08 – Ordered the software, and the domain. I’ve created my BANS store revolving around Blu-ray movies/products and you can see my store at http://www.blu-ray-auctions.com/ I’m very impressed with the software and I had a fully automated store up and running in 10 minutes. I was expecting a lot more work, but honestly, it was incredibly simple. I’m not kidding when I say, anyone can do it. I’m going to spend the rest of the day writing content and tidying up the store a bit. Again, all basic stuff. If you can type, you can run your own BANS store.

Hello, Ive been tuning in to you for a month now so I find it interesting that you seem to have finally found something that you actually put your stamp of approval on.(BANS) However, dont you think you’re jumping the gun a little?? Youve yet to sell anything. After going over your figures I dont understand how youve made a $154.00 profit without selling anything. So does this mean youve become an ebay store AFFILIATE and are getting paid for clicks?? Or do you get paid for each one of us that signs up with BANS through your website??? Either way this IS interesting. Let me know, if you would. Im in quite desperate financial straits and I need to find something that will work. Thanks…..Mick

Hey Mick,

I haven’t sold anything and I’m down $151, not up that much money. Red font and parentheses indicates a negative amount, not positive.

So far, I’ve praised the software for it’s incredible ease of use; that’s it. Traffic is starting to pick up, but I still haven’t made a sale yet. I’ll be posting a weekly log of my findings using the software.

How ironic is this? I just heard about Bans last week and found it an interesting idea. I too will be interested in seeing what you find Steve.
I really hope it works ,because this will also work with my other business. Now I got two programs to follow on I’ve tried that ..haha! Remember no all of us a computer wizards .

Steve,
Once you’ve purchased the BANS software, can you use it multiple times for multiple stores? Or is the $97 a per site license fee?

02.07.08

You can use it as many times as you like. Unlimited licenses with one purchase.

I’ll have to address that in my next update.

02.07.08

Perhaps I should not be so lazy and try reading BANS’ FAQ section where they explain one license entitles multiple sites.

Just wondering how the Build a Niche Store has been working out for the last 4 months. Is it still making money? I am thinking about giving it a try.

I have 16 BANS sites. Don’t let anyone tell you it is “10 minutes.” There is more to this than downloading the software, uploading a website and watching the money roll in. The members forum on BANS has become overcrowded with a-holes who don’t want to help newbs and the founders of BANS, who used to be available, are no longer around. The novelty of this program is wearing off, becoming recognized, and it is becoming increasing more difficult to make a commission through eBay. eBay’s new program, ePN, which pays the affiliates, has serious tracking issues and money isn’t being awarded correctly. You need to know computer basics and be willing to put many hours of Search Engine Optimization into your sites. It is a full-time job. Do your research on this before you buy. Most who promote it and lie about a 10 minute set-up are BANS affiliates looking to make some money off your purchase when you click on their link to purchase BANS.

BANS is DEAD. The boat has sailed. Google does not like duplication of content, Ebay (EPN) does not like duplication of content and face it, that is all a BANS site really is. BANS is worthless without membership into Ebay’s Partner Network (EPN). EPN does not like BANS sites, there are just too many of them. As of this date, EPN is automatically rejecting new membership into EPN with a BANS site. “Automatic Rejection” without even reviewing the site! Buyer beware.

01.26.09

Gary is just a case of a loser who thinks throwing up a bare template and applying to ePN leads to overnight riches. If you put dupe content on your site your an idiot. The BANS links to eBay are not picked up by the robots so they are not duplicates.

Where is the link pointing us to your knowledge that ePN doesn’t like BANS? When did they say this and where?

AND ePN is not automatically rejecting BANS users, as indicated by those who are being accepted. Your Automatic Rejection” was likely the result of submitting your application improperly.

Obviously, you are another Get Rich Quick wanna-be.
