BlogRush (for lack of a better cliché) has taken the blogging world by storm. Nearly everyone is reporting about their new services and just how wonderful BlogRush is. So, naturally, we’re trying it and reporting the results.

What is a BlogRush?

If you look over the left sidebar you’ll see a new ‘widget’ (fancy word for box) that displays relevant headlines from other blogs. The more times you display the widget, the more times your headlines will appear in other’s boxes. When everything is said and done, you should be able to receive plenty of free traffic from a variety of different blogs. The concept is new and ingenious and I’m surprised it hasn’t been thought of before.

So, does it work?

Right now, no. The stats page reads, “YOUR STATS WILL START DISPLAYING WITHIN 24-48 HOURS. (Thank you for your patience.)” I’ve added the code a little over 36 hours ago and have yet to see a single hit from another website. I can only assume that they are working behind the scenes to gather my information and display it in neat looking charts.

Referrals, referrals, referrals.

Your Traffic = 1:1 1st Generation Of Referrals (Directly From You) = 1:1 2nd Generation Of Referrals (i.e. Jen in the video) = 1:1 3rd – 6th Generation Of Referrals = 1:4 7th – 10th Generation Of Referrals = 1:8

1:1 means you earn 1 syndication credit for every 1 impression of the widget by your own traffic or by any users located on the 1st (direct) or 2nd generations. 1:4 means you earn 1 syndication credit for every 4 impressions of the widget by any user located on the 3rd to 6th generations. 1:8 means you earn 1 syndication credit for every 8 impressions of the widget by any user located on the 7th to 10th generations.

Confusing? Yea, a picture would have been sufficient, but BlogRush has taken the initiative to add a referrals system to help promote the program. To simplify the above statement, if you refer people your headlines will be displayed more.
