I’ve Tried That reader Alfa, who recently profiled our site on her blog, Flood of Dollars, suggested that we take a look at Cash Crate, another site claiming to pay you for trying companies’ products and services. I signed up. Here’s what I found out.

- Nielsen - Download their app and get paid $50!
Cashcrate.com functions on the same premise as Inbox Dollars and Fusion Cash: sign up for promotional memberships and offers and get paid a small fee per sign-up. It also has a referral program so that you can get paid for the offers and memberships of people who sign up “under” you.
I like cashcrate better than Fusion Cash just because it is less obnoxious in its promotional graphics and text and because the site is faster loading. You go to the members area and can choose from offers using simple text, not full-on logos like Fusion Cash uses. The screen shot shows only the first nine of many, many offers. The site also warns you which offers require a credit card to sign up for, a nice feature.
I spent an hour taking surveys and signing up for offers at Cash Crate and have earned about $3.50. At that rate, it would take me a lifetime to earn a crate full of cash unless it’s the size of a Tic-Tac box. Cash Crate pays out at $10, so I’m sure someone with more time and patience for advertising than I have could make some pizza money. Good for students, maybe? It could definitely supplement the Taco Bell fund. If you spent enough time with it, you could probably learn to work its system faster than I did and therefore make more than $3.50/hour. If you’re looking to make more than just pocket change, though, I suggest spending your time elsewhere.
How Does Cash Crate Compare?

I’ve been using cash crate for several months now, and the thing that pays the best is the referrals. If you can get people to click on your referral link and sign up – you get money when they do their first offer, and then a percentage for every offer they fill out.
This month (feb 09) I’ve made over $350 already, with another week or two left. I’ve got a friend who has made over $1400 this month.
The key is to promote cash crate on your blog or website, forum signatures, etc and get the referral money.
The money from offers/surveys is just gravy – but be sure to sign up for a separate email address for filling those out because you will be getting some spam emails..
For those of you having a hard time getting your pending earnings credited try this. Also, if they have not confirmed in the same day remove them and try them again.
1.) Cookies, being the number one cause of offers not confirming, simply must be cleared in between each offer. Why? Because companies track you through cookies, and for more than one offer from the same company, you need to clear them so you can be tracked again correctly, and so your offer will confirm.
2.)Email Recycling: Companies with more than one offer on the list track you with your email address as well, and if they already have that email in their database , then your offer will not confirm. Simply create 10 or more email addresses from any email provider, and change them up among offers. The more email addresses you have, the less of a chance you’ll submit the same email to the same company twice.

I’ve done CashCrate for recently, a guy on their forum just admitted that with 23,000 referees he makes $1400. monthly but it goes down every mo. because people quit & just doing the free offers is conciderably below min. wage. There are many single moms & kids (you only have to be 13 to join) on their forum. I feel bad for the moms, they won’t make the money they’re hoping for & the kids learn to lie to try to get referres. Even tho I only did the free offers they charged the phone # I gave over $50, the phone company said to forget it but it’s still upsetting. The junk mail to my house is getting out of hand also. It’s a huge waste of time & has hidden irritations & potential costs involved, don’t join.

Cashcrate is my GPT of choice. I have seen people earn $1000 per month on this site but with all these sites, they are not get rich quick schemes, which many people seem to think when starting off making money online. As with anything, it takes time to adjust to the program and recruit team members under you.
My goal personally on my blog is to document the fact that you can make at least $1000 on Cashcrate a year. That is my goal this year. If people can earn $500 a month on Cashcrate, I surely should be able to earn $1000 this year.

I have not used much else before, but I am fairly happy with what this does. I am going to at least make the $20 minimum before this month is up to see if i actually get a real check!! (I know you all say its all good, but I like to see it before I believe it)
Just make ya a separate E-mail for it on say gmail or something and you should be good.
I have found for most of the “offers” if you get good at clicking you can do them in about 1 minute. Many are exactly the same form just different products… I have made good use of ‘google toolbar’s autofill feature’ that helps..

I signed up for cashcrate around a month and a half ago and have already made almost $100. It really is a great site to make a little extra cash each money.
I just signed up for cashcrate. It seems like a good site. If you like completing offers you can make pretty good money. To me it seems you will make more money by refering others.
I’m not sure how cashcrate works exactly but i tried it out. i basicly typed nonsense in all the text fields. I.E. Name Here: asdfh alsdjkfh ETC… i spent maybe 30 minutes doin surveys in this fasion and racked up $65 in “pending.” this was 2 nights ago and its still pending. so we’ll see.
Do you have to give them real information? I wasn’t worried to much about handing my personal info to cashcrate themselves after i researched it and found that it is legit. however, if i would have to give random credit card companies my actual BANK ACCOUNT INFO!!! they’re fukin nuts. most of these surveys asked for my social security number as well. There’s no way in hell i would give these things out to any survey for money. I’d be interested to hear if anyone actually gave this type of personal information.
As far as making money, there are better ways to make money while sitting at home. One scam im working on is with food. I call, for example, frito ley and complain about a stale bag of cheetos and ask them for my money back. HAHA. or the crest “whitening” toothpaste that doesnt work. just tell these guys that you want your money back. bam there’s $10 dollars in your pocket after they send the checks. If you’re thinking i’m a dirty scam artist, you’re wrong. The chips were stale and the toothpaste was crap.

Hey there, um how often does Cashcrate update it’s offers?? I did a ton last night (and I still have 9.50 pending, anyone have experiences with long pending?) I just want to know if Cashcrate updates its offers everyday. Cause is it worth it if it only updates 1 or 2 times a week?

I just want to say, that CashCrate is a total SCAM.
Last Friday, I was looking thourgh some news articles on my E-Mail Home Page, amd some idiot had just posted an ad for CashCrate, telling how much they loved the extra cash, etc.
Posts that are Off Topic are supposed to be reported, so I did. I recalled the site, and decided that maybe I could just see what it was all about.
What it was about, was to infect my Ram with possibly a WORM that made IE pages keep popping up untl I must have had at least 50 of them, even with up and down arrows, so check out the upper, and lower rows.
I finally clicked on the “X” in the upper Right corner, as fast as possible, and finally got back to my home page.
Then, just as I was about to sign out, duddenly, the IE windows startd again, very fast.
Finally, I realixed that I had indeed picked up some mal ware, so I just did the (cntl+alt+delete) and shut down my E-Mail home page.
Since I have high speed Internet, well, even when you shut off your ISP, you are really still connected to the Internet.
After working on it all Friday evening, and half of Saturday, it occurred to me, that I should disconnrct the Internet Cable, so my RAM would have a chance to clear out,
I still ram my Anti Virus Program once again, and it said the problem was in my 9Active Memory = RAM).
Finally, I shut down everything, since I had already disconnected my Cable from my computer, and once again, I shut down my computer.
Finally late Saturday afternoon, I reconnected the Internet Cable to my computer again, and went to my home page, and started with my E-mail, just to test it out.
Finally, it appeared that the MalWare was finally gone, though it cost me practically a whole day to clean it up.
I called my ISP filled them in regarding what had happened, and gave them the Web Address I had gotten it from, as well as to advise them, that I had reported the Post, since it was completely Off Subject.
I told the people at my ISP, that I had reported it, and also gave them the Web Site of the CashCrate, which infected my computer, and that I had reported the Post, so they should easily be able to track, as well as find it in the posts that had beem reported and deleted.
Don’t go to Web Sites you are not familliar with…
I have joined cashcrate and have almost $80 in pending and $16 confirmed. I’m not holding my breath for the pending but I will not continue with this site after the 15th. The spam in my email is horrible I’ve had to set up a new email just to get away from it.
I’ve tried CashCrate but my favorite is GypsyJackpot. That’s a very simple and highpaying survey site. I’ve gotten paid anytime I’ve worked at it with no problem. :)

It isn’t cash, but MyPoints has been consistent with completed offers with out a ton of gimmicks for them to get out of paying and receiving prompt gift cards. I have racked up enough points to take us out to dinner every once in a while to or give a gift card as a present. Mostly by just clicking on links. I wouldn’t plan on making a fortune on these sites. After all, they are in it for the money too or they wouldn’t do it. This Cashcrate sounds like a pyramid deal. I also found that the biggest gimmick it to write on a blog how great it is to encourage downlines. Thanks for a decent review.
Ive tried loads of these type site (survey and what not) the best i can recommend are toluna, ciao, lightspeed, surveyspot, none give you loads of surveys but it you sign up to enough decent ones its good for some extra cash with these sites i get about 3 surveys a day at around £1-£4 per about 15 min survey so its not bad if you know the right sites and only do the ones worth your time.

I sign up to CashCrate on 5/2/2008 and have made $19 today(5/4/2008). In my opinion it is the best program. I made the most money with this site. Yeah it take some time and effort to make some cash but nothing comes from nothing. I think people need to realize quick rich scheme online are a waste of time. You can make money but dont expect to fire your boss anytime soon. If you are interest in making some gas money or pocket cash then try the site out. Depending on the type of offer you finish you can make at least $5-10 an hour. Referral does help to increase your payout so keep the chain. I join the site from a referral and receieved extensive help getting started from my referral. I will share the same tools and resource provided to me to be successful with all my referral.
Ya I have been receiving for a while now. At first your confused and take alot more time doing surveys then you need. But after a few weeks you learn a few tricks of the trade and then your just flying. Email if you need any hints or tips. Take advantage of free money.
has anyone actually received a check yet?
I’ve changed my opinion since my earlier post in this Blog. All together I’ve got almost $26.00 confirmed earnings from Cashcrate and, am expecting to recieve those in a check later this month. At the time of my original posting I had an additional $65.00 earnings pending which never did confirm even though I completed the offers correctly. After these offers sat in the pending list for nearly a month they were removed as though I’d never completed them. I would not recommend this or any of the other “Get Payed To” sites to anyone nor will I seek out referrals after this experience. The Cash Crate site has a forum and their members are not allowed to discuss pending offers in their forums. It appears that the reasoning behind this is due to the fact that a very large percentage of their offers are extremely slow to confirm or they never do confirm. This seems to be a common theme among the other “Get Payed To” sites as well
Hey thanks for this review. Ok, so I tried it and made a whopping $15.80 after trying it 2 hours a night for 5 nights in a row. Um, that’s comes out to about $1.58 an hour. That sucks.
I should also mention that the hours I spent filling out survey after survey made me want to stick hot needles in my eyes just to end the nightmare. So , yes, small crate indeed.

Well I tried it, and wish I’d found your website before trying it, lol. I made about $22 within a few hours, but it’s been some 2 weeks since then and it’s still “pending”. They “confirmed” $3, which isn’t enough for a payout. So that was a few hours wasted.
I think I’m like you and not nearly organized enough for something like that, anyway. I’d end up paying out money on accounts that I would inevitably forget to cancel before the free trial ended.

So far my experience with Cashcrate has been positive. I’ve been a member there for about a week now. I was able to generate my $10.00 minimum payout and have my offer payments confirmed in a little over an hour. My first couple of offers like Joe’s seemed to take me through an endless loop of additional offers requesting signups. I did not realize that I had allready completed the original offer that I started and had gone on to another affiliate offer. After learning to do the offers more efficiently I’ve been able to average around $10.00 per hour. So far I’ve made a little over $85.00 and I’ve got about eight hours tied up in completing their offers. I’ve got one referral signed up under me who has been very activly completing offers. Its not a get rich quick method by anystretch of imagination, however it can be a good way of generating some spare cash and the referral program can be quite lucrative.

I’d say CashCrate is great but a few other sites will make you more money. Especially if your looking to earn money via referral commissions.

Joe, there are ways to do surveys in an efficient amount of time… none should take over 5 minutes if you’re doing them right. 30 minutes on one survey is unheard of!
Basically, you can make some good extra cash if you read site rules & tips to get offers to credit.
I’m sure I did more than 5, and I don’t remember seeing an opt out button. 30 offers to win $3? You must be so, um, proud.
I got a tip from this website: http://www.gptlist.com/gptsites.html saying that we would actually only need to do 5 pages of those “endless loop of ‘survey’ pages”. i haven’t really tried that “5 pages” rule yet. the surveys i have done allow me to click “skip” or “no, thanks” to move through the pages quite quickly. oh… hee… gotta say this: i won an earning contest on FTT: $3. I had to complete 15 offers. The catch: I actually did 30 offers! So, only 50% got credited. It’s probably not worth the time. Yes, that beats my $3.50 an hour (unless it’s one of those loooong sign up forms). When I signed up for one program, I got into an endless loop of “survey” pages, which were really just long questionnaires to determine which stuff they could try to sell me. I did about 30 minutes worth of the screens before getting wise and closing the browser. So it doesn’t surprise me that someone who’s more organized and efficient than I am could make more money with these programs.
CashCrate is a good site and it actually works- I’ve been a member of their site for almost a year and have received several checks from them… but there are better programs out there. ECashOffers.com is the best one on my list… you get $3 just to sign up so how’s that for your $3.50 an hour?
You’re right. Cashcrate does load up faster because it has little graphic. I have to admit I really like fairytaletreasure (FTT) though. As I mentioned before, I made $40 the first month. And now, I’m at $60 (5th or 6th week). ($7 is from referral). I love the daily trivia! It’s really fun. Plus, they keep a history of my offers so that I wouldn’t accidentally do it again on Cashcrate or other GPT site. I see how Cashcrate is simple and just complete the offers and you will (or may) get the credit. if you want to try FTT out, let me know and i will post my referral or e-mail you my referral. I wonder how long has FTT been around? I think it’s only a couple months.

Probably one of the fairest reviews that I can across in a long time! I been a member of Cashcrate for over a year now! As far as I am concerned, it is one of the better GPT sites online, especially great for US, UK and CAN residents who want to make a little extra income, online, and yes you can make some good money, if yuo are good at getting a downline! I had to do a “W9” just from the income that I made from Cashcrate! If that’s the case, Alfa, then go for it with CashCrate. We’ve tried two other similar programs: Fusion Cash and Inbox Dollars, but I think CashCrate is the best option of those three. It’s less graphics-intensive, so it loads quickly. But read the Terms and Conditions carefully to see if being in another country excludes you. It would be terrible to do a lot of sign-ups only to learn you can’t get paid.

There seems to be quite a variety of capital outlay. Cashcrate’s infrastructure is quite a bit less expensive to run than that of Fusion Cash, I’m sure. Maybe these sites make a lot of affiliate change up front, then when readers discover they’re making $3.50 an hour, they bolt and the site folds. It would be interesting to know which ones have been around for a while and how their business model pulls it off.
Wow, at $3.5/hr it’s hard to justify the time involved. These sites seem to keep appearing, but never lasting. Not sure why they haven’t gotten the idea yet.
I’d be interested to hear what they have to to say. Maybe she figured out a way to work it so that it pays. Maybe she has a bigger crate. Sometimes, size does matter.

Huge waste of time, they’re bsaically paying you for your referral and if you don’t participate in the programs they refer you to, they’ll say you didn’t complete the offer or some crap.
I wish I got $8 when I signed up for Ebay 5 years ago though, free money’s nice.
