Another one bites the dust. I keep hoping for a legitimate data entry job, but this one is not it. Dataentrybusiness.com cannot possibly fulfill its promises. It’s heavily promoted by top-paying-online-jobs.com, which should be ashamed of itself. It won’t, of course, because such people have no shame.
The long review: What are the claims?
Dataentrybusiness.com and its promoters claim it leads you to legitimate data entry jobs. All you have to do is pay the $49.00 “membership fee,” and you’ll get access to the “Members’ Area” containing all the secrets you need to rake in $200 per day or more for 45 minutes of daily work. Data entry jobs like this, and specifically dataentrybusiness.com either directly claim or imply the following:
- Companies pay you for filling out forms; this outfit even lists specific numbers:
If you complete 2 forms a day = $448 per week! (thats $1792/Month and $21,503 a Year!)
If you complete 4 forms a day = $896 per week! (thats $3584/Month and $43,008 a Year!)
If you complete 8 forms a day = $1792 per week! (thats $7168/Month and $86,016 a Year!) - You do the work in some sort of proprietary system, which you gain access to by paying your membership fee
- “We provide an online catalog of companies, organised into relevant categories (health, money, employment etc).
What is the truth?
Don’t be fooled by the hype, the testimonials, the pictures of cash, or the yellow highlighter. (Remember when Steve warned you about those things?) Here is the truth about those claims:
- This is a lie. Companies don’t pay you to fill out forms (at least not in this scenario.) They pay you IF someone clicks an ad you create AND THEN buys the product your ad is selling. Whether the clicker buys or not, YOU PAY a fee to Google for the click, if the ad is based in Google Adwords.
- You are not using a system that the company has hooked you up with. You’re using Google’s Adwords system and choosing companies from Clickbank, both of which everyone has access to for free.
- This is another lie. They don’t provide you anything except for instructions on how to set yourself up with clickbank and Adwords accounts—information freely available if you know where to look.
Here’s what’s really going on: You are filling out Google Adwords forms or affiliate links for businesses listed in Clickbank. There’s a lot the program promoters don’t tell you:
- If it’s based in Google Adwords, you’ll have to PAY for each form you fill out because you’re creating an ad to go in Google’s database. You pay Google to list your ad on sites like this one, in search results (that’s what “sponsored links” are), in Gmail screens, and elsewhere.
- You pay a per-click fee every time someone clicks on your ad.
- You only get paid if someone makes a purchase after clicking on your ad.
How many times have you clicked on an ad and not made a purchase? Yeah, me too. So now you can see how this “data entry job” is going to suck money from your wallet faster than you can say, “I want my money back.”
“But Joe, look at all the news outlets that have done stories on them. It must be legitimate if MSNBC is reporting on it.” See, the promoters are hoping you’ll see those news logos and think that. They think you’re as dumb as a box of rocks. I did detailed searches at 4/5 of the news organizations listed, NONE OF THEM did stories on this outfit. More about that later.
Numbers don’t prove anything
The part of this page that really gets my goat is the image claiming to show “how much you can earn completing forms.” Fill out 2 forms per day and make $448 per week? The world just doesn’t work that way. Maybe you could make that much with two forms, IF a given number of people clicked on it each day that week AND purchased whatever that ad is selling. And even then, it depends on you choosing the right company to create ads for. Make ads for strawberry-scented butt-rash cream and you might be stuck with a 10-cent commission per sale. How many tubes of cream do you have to sell to make $448 per week at that rate?
I’m so disgusted by these guys that I felt I had to take action. I wrote to the legal departments of cnn.com, msnbc.com, Wired News, and the New York Times online and gave them a heads-up that someone is using their logos as endorsements. It felt really good, too.
You know what felt even better? Finding the dirt on them at the Better Business Bureau. Read the whole report; I can’t do it justice here:
Complainants allege false or deceptive advertising practices, dissatisfaction with the offer which resulted in refund requests, or failure to honor their money back guarantee. Some buyers complain the company misrepresents the income potential, or fails to disclose that there are additional costs after the membership is purchased. All complainants claim they experience difficulty contacting the company in regards to their refunds.
Were you considering Dataentrybusiness.com and read this review as part of your research? Have I saved you from flushing $50 down the loo? If so, we’d love to hear from you in the comments. Come to think of it, we’d love to hear from you in the comments, anyway.

Lord! You should NEVER pay for ANY job! If they ask for ANY fee they are a scam! ONLY Home Business’s ask for fees!
I’m really getting disgruntled at not being able to find a legitimate work from home solution. Thanks for the heads up info and keep up the top notch sleuthing work!
I’m not entirely sure how you found the site Kirk, but I suggest (if you haven’t already) checking out my other site SaveAndMake.com for real work at home jobs. It’s updated daily.
eck! i fell for it! i saw the website on http://www.workathometop10.com. i was deciding between this and the dataentrybusiness.com because i was desperate to stay home with my baby. i picked the sixfiguresyearly.com because it sounded like i just had to manage “accounts”. so, i spent my money and got a 20-page-ebook and i’m a very, very slow reader. i wasn’t happy to see the book. and i definitely was not happy because it sounded like i have to create website and “advertise”. well, i didn’t finish reading the book.
in a way, it’s not a “scam” because i’m sure if i put in the work, i MAY make that much money… it’s an expensive $70 lesson to learn about webmarketing AND that don’t spend any more money to make money. of course, i made an attempt to get a refund because i don’t intend to use the idea. surely, there was no reply. i guess i used the idea: http://www.acitivtyassistant.com/freemoney.htm. it’s just a list of those cashcrate.com, fusioncash.com, inboxdollars.com sites. for people who like to make those pennies. =) i made $40 on fairytaletreasures.com in a month, not bad, huh?
also, i recently joined homeworkingmom.com and it has a free e-book that gives basic info. on working at home.
what do you think about mypowermall.com?
Julia, we’ll take a closer look at mypowermall.com in the near future. Meanwhile, I’m interested in your experience and might contact you for more details for a coming post.
Joe, people like you make me so…HAPPY! I was WAS considering the dataentrybusiness.com. Thank you for taking the time to research and share this very valuable information. This site is my new “favorite”
Woo-hoo! You have made my day, Lilia! I’m glad you found us. A good site to check while looking for legitimate at-home jobs is dailytelecommuter.com. Every job is screened and checked for legitimacy before it’s posted.
what they said. i just got ten pins and a plate in my heel and i have wasted so much time on these god awful surveys and what not,yet i still thought this one might be legit. thank you very, very, much!
We aim to please, Mike. Good luck with the pins. Do you set off metal detectors at the airport?
Hey, I’m so glad I checked this one out!! I was so nearly going to join up for the dataentrybusiness.com – but my husband thought it might be dodgy – like he said, sounds too easy. But it all looked legit and they had the money back guarantee – anyways, thought I’d do a quick check on the net to see what people’s experience’s with it were like, and I’m glad I did!! I might check out a couple of your legit sites above. I have 2 small children and a bit of extra income would be very helpful! But thank you so much or this information – it’s definitely worth it!
Thanks for the note, Deb. 3 people so far have been “saved” from this particular scam by this post. I feel that I could die happy now. Not that I’m planning on dieing, but I’m just sayin’.
Joe – make that four people!!
Thanks! Thought I would check out some reviews before considering anything – glad I did.
Was looking for something to up my income – but the time I have taken already before reaching your site, I could probably have trained in dog grooming or something as inane!
Don’t die! We need your site to stay current!
Thanks, Gilli! I’m thrilled this post was helpful. I guess I’ll just go ahead and not die, after all! I wouldn’t call dog grooming inane, though. Do you have a scanner and some photoshop ability? I have a good home business idea for you, and I’ll give you the idea for free.
Great post. The site promise you something and end up Selling You some other thing.
I love this site Joe. You made a great WebSite here.
Thank you so much for the heads up! There are so many people looking for sincere work from home businesses and this site is a great resource for those looking to weed out the scams so as to not lose money. No one wants to lose money especially families with kids and I’m a mom that really can’t afford a scam. Thanks again!
We really need to start a running tally on how many people we’ve saved from scams like this.
Hi Darcy,
I’m glad it was helpful for you. Have you discovered Daily Telecommuter yet? Some guy posts about 10 screened, legitimate work-at-home jobs every day. I’ve made a good part time income from jobs I found there. Keep us posted.
Like so many others, if there is so much money to be made, why would one have to pay. That is in fact how they make their money. Otherwise, they’d just pay you a piece of the pie. Thanks for bringing everything to light. I needed that.
I’ve been checking out work at home sites, trying to earn some extra money and not getting scammed. What I’ve seen so far is scams, after checking out your site, thank you!
You’re welcome, Michele. Thanks for commenting.
Joe
I have quite a lot of experience using photoshop, and yes, I have a scanner, so any tips would be great!
Thanks
Joe- Thanks for being a great watchdog! You certainly saved me 50 bucks. I too was considering dataentrybusiness.com as a way to supplement my current day job. And like the gentleman named Kirk mentioned, I’m getting very frustrated at not being able to find legitimate work from home. Everything seems to be a scam or require too large an investment to start. Please give me any tips you can on finding a real way to make some extra income.
Glad to hear you didn’t flush your cash, Eric. What types of work do you do? Tell me a little about your background and skills and I’ll help you look.
Chalk up another one saved from wasting money on another scam!
I started researching dataentrybusiness.com, and found this page. Needless to say, they aren’t going to get my $50. I have better things I can buy with it. (maybe a true, legitimate program that actually works?)
Think I’ll bookmark this site, right now. I like it! Informative, easy to read, and entertaining. Again, I like it!
Thanks, Matt! And I’m popping open a cold one right now in honor of your saved $50. You could buy 1 and a half Entertainment books for that price and save even more money. In fact, it could leverage that $50 into $hundreds, realistically.
As soon as we find a subscription-based program that really helps you make money, we’ll put the word out.
I too must tell you a huge thank you! I am an insurance agent by day and wanted to find a job where I could work from home some evenings and weekends for some extra cash. I went online to see if I could find any information about this site and data entry and found this site. Thank you so much for saving me all that aggrevation!!
Glad to be of help, Kelly. Stick around; we’ll share everything we know about making money online (and not getting scammed in the process).
I too just want to say thanks for saving me the money. I was seriously considering joining, but I thought I needed to check it out first and I sure am glad I did. I am a mother of 4 and I am trying to find an extra source of income.
Thanks for speaking up, Pam. For legitimate work-from-home jobs, you can’t beat The Daily Telecommuter. Some guy reads job ads every day and posts only the real ones. 15+ jobs per day! Good luck.
thanks they send me e mails everyday i thought they might be ok i think you probably saved me 50 bucks
Joe,
I have learned from past experiences to research any quick get rich opportunity. This was no exception. My wife was so excited when she told me about the web site.
When googling the company I found your blog.
Thanks for the heads up! I will keep coming back to this web site for more information on home business opportunities. Thanks again.
hi jo, my-data-team is also sening me e-mails when i google it i get mixed reviews what do you think are they really all scams or what thanks again ben campbell bjc@tranquility.net
Hi Joe,
Did you know there is even a yahoo group attempting to bring people into this? I got an emaila, “join the Data_Entry_Business group!” It states right in the invitation, “Would you like to earn an extra $200 every day?, for just 45 minutes work?” and includes a link to an affiliate’s website.
Since I use google adwords in marketing and help people find or be more effective in their network marketing, direct sales or affiliate marketing businesses, this smelt “scam” to me.
Thanks for your blog giving the details. If I have anyone considering this, I can refer them to your blog.

No, I didn’t know that Wendy. Glad to have you as a watchdog partner. One of the reasons these kinds of programs aren’t going away anytime soon is because they pay generous affiliate commissions. There are lots of people willing to do the dirty work of selling them in exchange for a piece of the pie.
((CORRECTION))
I deeply appreciate what you are doing here! I received the “dataentrybusiness.com” offer through email and it was affiliated with YAHOO.groups which made me curious enough to look at their website. One of the truest statements ever is “If it’s to good to be true…. it probably is”, and this offer is no exception. Thank you so much for making the truth available. I’m glad I found your site.
Thanks,
Jesse
Hi Jesse. thanks for speaking up. I wonder what’s required to become affiliated with Yahoo.groups? Maybe just a fat membership fee?
Hi Joe,
Actually anyone can create a members group with yahoo for free, but they are not supposed to spam people to join. I imagine if Yahoo gets complaints, they may shut the group down.
Wendy Mills
Hi, i’m just like the others.. feeling really great and happy to have found this site before joining dataentrybusiness. I feel quite lucky that i’m a rather broke student(if i have the money at that time, i would have been scammed) trying to get a job for extra income. So as i was planning to save up and join them, i’ve tried to research on the news reports that they claimed about in cnn and etc. But the good news here is that i’ve found this site instead. thanks so much.
thanks for the heads up. I’ve been a victim of several scams in the past. it’s good to know that you’re here to prevent people from falling into the trap. It’s sad people want to make extra cash from home and just about every cite is a fraud. Again thanks for the warning
Hi, I was considering joining dataentrybusiness just to earn that extra money I need as a single mom but now I am glad I didn’t. So where should I look for a legitmate home business. Thanks for the help.
Sharlin, Vanessa:
Thanks for letting us know. I’m glad you found the site helpful.
Helen:
That’s the $34,000 question, isn’t it? Believe me, as soon as we find a legitimate home business, we’ll make a lot of noise about it. I can tell you how to avoid the scams, though. Read “How to Spot the Ebook Presell Page.” Even though it’s about ebooks, the principles apply to every scam page we’ve seen. And read “Web Sites to Avoid” to learn more about the warning signs.
there is a link to dataentrybusiness.com on this page… how ironic
Thanks cameron. I thought I caught every link in the comments but I guess I missed some.
hey!! I was just doin some research before i take a next step to anything.Im an 18 yr old student looking for online jobs so i can help out my family and other things. But i keep hearing about scams and stuff. Does anyone know any legitimate online jobs where i can actually make good money for free? Im in Egypt now too.. so ima need somethng international right?
Thankyou guys!!!=]
Joe, thanks I saved me $50, Question, I was debating of joining between DataEntryBusiness or My-Data-Team, they seem to be the same concept. Now that DataEntryBusiness is out, do you have any comment for My-Data-Team, email me please
Regards
Earl
If it’s the same concept, it’s 100% definitely a scam. Don’t fall for any ‘data entry job’ for that matter.
How to Turn $5 into $15,000 in 30 Days with PayPal!
I received an email from this guy. John email id: johnrudgo@yahoo.com . Then I discussed with a friend and he just tried it. To my surprise he said it really works But he got only $15 instead of $15,000. He had invested $5. I did a research and found thousands of such posts.I think this is illegal. Can you do something about it. Please comment.
hi joe just want to thank you for saving me 50 bucks. I was seriously considering buying the dataentrybusiness.com I can ill afford to waste my money on another work at home scam. I will look into thedailytelecommuter.com program it sounds good. Once again, thanks so very much. robert
My sister is joining webcolleagues and I told her to let me check it out, but I have found nothing about this site everywhere I have looked. Anyone heard anything about this webcolleagues.com I think that this site is wonderful
btw, I sent an e-mail to dataentrybusiness.com in June before I found ivetriedthat. They never answered my huge question: “I am really curious why the companies are paying us to copy-and-paste? Why doesn’t the actually companies do the copy-and-pasting themselves, especially if they are already typing the data into a database for us to copy from?” (sorry for this long comment.) Here are the response and my e-mail:

I just spent $69.99 purchasing a e-book that said will let me make money, but what I have been doing, as a slow reader, is reading and reading and haven’t started making money.
For DataEntryBusiness.com, before I make a purchase, is it an e-book too? It doesn’t look like it, but I just want to confirm. Can I start doing data-entry right after I register? Approximately how many hours of effort would I need before (starting to) filling out the first “ad” (and making money)? The website mentions copy-and-paste. I know it is not a scam, but I am really curious why the companies are paying us to copy-and-paste? Why doesn’t the actually companies do the copy-and-pasting themselves, especially if they are already typing the data into a database for us to copy from?
Also, I know there is never a true guarantee. Is there a possibility DataEntryBusiness.com. will run out of work (run out of the need for data entry) any time? It sounds like members would be competing for the “high pay” data entry companies. Would those companies be always available for me to pick from?
Also, I have security concerns. I prefer to reveal my address info to as few people as possible. Is it possible to do data entry for only one company and still get around 8 jobs a day? I know this question depends on which company, but are there many of these companies to choose from?
Thank you,
Julia
Wow, excellent questions, Julia. Their response is a perfect example of what they learn in Scam 101: How to Answer All the Questions Except the Ones They Actually Ask. They didn’t answer Richard Williams’s question, either. And he was really bummed about that, let me tell you!
i tried dataentry business for my son who wanted to make some money while he was studying in London. the thing is a scam and we found this ou the hard way when we checked our credid card account and found that yahoosearch had started deducting 30.00 every 3 days from our account via paypal. He was hesitant at first and wondered why they wanted his credit card account before signing up, but we thought that it was so that he could be paid. I had to put a block on my account so that even i cannot use it now.. i called yahoosearch and they promised to refund my money. however when i tried to contact dataentry business for my $49.95 refund, they sent me that same letter which they sent Julia. aparently, Yahoosearch did indeed tried to contact us to discuss the problem. and when i called them concerning cancellation and refunding the paypal deductions they promised to comply. they have not yet done so. now i am convinced that there really is no legitimate dataentry business online. cant you do somethiig about ths. why must people get away with this kind of scam.
Thanks for sharing, Claudette. I’ve front paged your story.
I usually google a site that Im not familiar with…just to get to get the buzz, if any, on it. I googled this one and found you. Thanks, Joe and thanks for the other suggested sites for work-at-home opportunities.
Like some people, I was about to sign up and pay to join that site, so I decide to look for complaint about that website, and I found you, one word, thank you. Have you ever try http://www.ippomails.net, because I never have been paid. I have spent $495 to become a platinium member… and at the end, nothing after for almost a year. Do you have list of true home base business ?
Chalk up another $50 saved! I am not looking for ’something for nothing’. I am not afraid of hard work. I am silly enough to actually believe in and desire fair pay for a job well done! And I keep finding these jerks who want my something for their nothing. Who don’t want to do any work (especially not hard work). Who don’t know the definitions for words like ‘fair’ or ‘job’. Thanks for this website. It not only saved me some money, but restored my flagging hope that a decent job may actually be available somewhere out on the web for me!
Mickael: I would love to hear about the $495 you spent with ippomails.net. And no, I don’t know anything about them.
Steve published a list of apparently genuine employers here. Be warned, though, we haven’t tried any of them. If they ask you for money instead of a resume, come back and let us know.
Mel, that’s the best written comment I’ve read on a blog in a long time! You have a knack for the well-turned phrase. There’s bound to be someone out there who wants to hire a good writer. Keep your eye on http://www.dailytelecommuter.com. It lists 10-15 telecommuting jobs every day, many of them for writers. I’m thrilled we saved you money, and we’ve added you to our Neener-Neener counter in the right sidebar.
Joe, I want to thank you so much for saving me $50! I’m unemployed so I don’t have much and I found dataentrybusiness.com through google and was serious about joining because it said to be “The Top Pick of 2007″. It’s a good thing I came here and read about it! Once again, thank you! I also want to warn everybody that if you see an ad in the local newspaper saying “Homeworkers needed. Make $1,500 a week stuffing envelopes or assembling jewellery”, its a scam. They charge you $49.95 and a month later you receive a “Work At Home Directory” with 80% of the addresses in the US that doesn’t exist! I’ve been scamed. I’ve learned my lesson now. Always look up before I invest. I have one question though, I went to the site “Canadian Homeworker Review” http://www.topjobreview.com and entered my info and they mailed me info for a directory for companies in Canada which would cost me $69.95. ($29.95 if I registered by Oct
Is this a scam too?
Thank you,I was just about to send the money when I decided to make enquiries.Ishould have known better?
Joe…thanks for “paying it forward” with your knowledge on several online scams. I received 3 emails which were in my SPAMbox all about this dataentrybusiness.com site. I read it twice, clicked on the order now link, went back and decided to do a search on this “company” and found your review. I’ve heard that companies won’t charge you a fee if they want you to work for them so the red light went off again (survey sites suck too!) so I didn’t bite. I’ll be saving this site for future info, legit info on where I can make a few extra bucks short of selling my soul! Take care!
Hey Kerry,
Are you saying we saved you $50?? That’s awesome. Almost makes up for my having read John Chow’s online income report for September, which tangled me up in blue for a few hours. Skepticism and caution are the watchwords when looking for online income opportunities.
Joe,
I am so ashamed of myself for not doing some research before I sign up. I was excited to try and because I was in a hurry to go to sleep for work after I signed up it took me to create my membership and username and password, there was no website to display, I checked my internet and other sites to see if this was just my computer and came to find out that this was no joke. I had no way to contact them after nemerous of email to them with no respond and finally went to sleep, here I am the very next still determined to see if I can still get on and no return email and no way to sign in. Big problem, now I regret not listening to my cut feeling not to pay to make money. This was a learning experience for me.
Well, as they say, Lani: live and learn. Good luck getting your money back from those bozos.
Hi Lani, there is hope yet; I have finally gotten a refund of my $49.95. from Dataentrybusiness. Actually it took some doing: I found this website called eesellerate.net which is what was printed on my c/card account as having been creditted to from my accout and i checked it out online and found that all i had to do was punch in my emailaddress that i used to register with dataentrybusness and Essellerate would email me the account no. and the item no, of the registration transaction that i paid for. I immediately used that info i got from Essellerate and emailed dataentry business requesting my refund, and they immediately refunded my 49.95. I am yet to receive a refud from yahoosearch marketing. I called them today and was promised that i would be refunded all moneys they deducted from my account minus their registration fees of 30.00. here is a copy of the letter they sent to me today after i called them. Here is thier number you may want to call for your refund: 8185245700: when you call please have your yahoo search user name and account number ready to quote to them

Dear Claudette,
Thank you for taking time with me on the phone today about your refund
request. As of this email I have submitted an expedited request for
your $60.00 refund back to the PayPal account on file. Typically it does
take 2-3 business days for that transaction to be completed. We
appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused.
Sincerely,

You rock, Claudette! Thanks for posting this helpful info. I’m sure it well help lots of folks fight these jerks.
They’re after me!! HULP!!! Thanks for the eye opener. It’s so true = ” If it’s sounds too good to be true, then it probably is, Buyer BEWARE and Look B4 ya leap and If in doubt, do nothing.” OK already enuf quips. I am still on the hunt for a REAL work at home using my PC. = ALLAN
tks for saving me $$$$$$$$$$ again…I just had a check in my spirit when it said $49 so as in the past I typed in truth about Dataentrybusiness …and your site came up…God bless you for caring for people.
Jerry
Thanks for the info on dataentrybusiness.com. I linked to it from an email (stupid, but I need some sort of home business) and was checking it out. The website had a timer which ran to zero, after which I could not open the website again.
I checked altavista for someone who knew about the business and found you. I am glad I did.
I have tried some survey companies but only made £6 up to now. Most companies only offered free entry into prize draws. I will try your suggested companies.
Thanks again. I will join your community.
Well I just signed up yesterday and I just found you tonight. I should have known it was too good to be true.
I don’t shop on-line either but this all sounds pretty good to me. I bought a gift card from K-mart. There was no shipping or postage charge, it is just face value. So I’ll go to K-mart and use it like cash. I think Macy’s also has a face value gift card that works the same way. If I go to K-mart instead of Target or Wal-mart I can spend $100/month without spending extra money. I may be wrong, but it looks like if you are careful, and you sign up lots of people, it can work. Good luck! Fran
Thanks Joe for the info on dataentrybusiness.com.I received 2 invitations through emails from a Yahoo Groups saying sleixld@yahoo.com has invited mt to join the Financial Free Group and that this invitation expires in 30 days time. I clinked on the link that led me to dataentrybusiness.com. The offer was too good to believe so I decided to use Google Search for its legitimacy and come across you site. You have done good work and its worthy noting that in this world there are good men like you who would not like to cheat others out of their money. Please keep up the good work, only GOD will reward you. I come from a third world country, Zambia where purchase of forex is expensive and wonder why anybody would think of robbing poor people.
Are there any legitimate worldwide data entry jobs or online typists jobs which I can join please?
another one saved
well done
Thanks for this site and your inputs, my 50 bucks still in my pocket… I too was hoping to get an extra income that can be done in a flexible time … as i check my email i noticed this “DATAENTRYBUSINESS” link and was so excited and eager to signup because of the extra money that i might earn, as i google i saw this site and try to read about this “DATAENTRY SCAM BUSINESS”… it did help me to save my 50 bucks..
Thanks
Elmer
Great article! My inbox was hit by a tempting email from one of these scammers. I had to do some googling myself to see what was up with this company which lead me to your blog. I also did the standard BBB lookup where I saw they received an ‘F’ for being such a shady company. Good work.
Oh yes you did. You saved my friend’s $50. She was about to fall for the scam but chose to first ask my opinion. I smelt a rat considering an investment of $50 to make $200 in 45 minutes, wow!. I did a little googling and came across this site. You have been very helpful indeed.
thanks joe

Hi:
I am desperate to find an at home data entry/typing service. I read all your shared responses on different sites, but am still looking for the legitimate one. Can you really help someone out who is desperately seeking a work from home opportunity. I am a very fast typist as well as data entry specialist. Lost my job because of automation and see so many scams. I have been scammed many times, spending money promising you you will make money quickly only to find that you have to spend hours learning. Please help me.
Thanks
Pauline Hall
Thanks Joe…..i nearly falls into the trap. Thanks you. Appreciated it.
i also fell for it ,i thouht it was for real as they had 100% money back guaranteed,i then requested a refund shortly after i joined only to find out that these guys are unreachable, its good that you inform people about these scams and save them money, wish i could have seen this ealier
thank you
Lethabo Mojapelo
Here’s another $50 you’ve saved. Many thanks Joe.
Hey Joe…I heard about this on Robin & Company this morning. They mentioned homenetpro.com, claiming you can make extra money working from home here. How nice of them to mention a sight that is a scam. dateentrybusiness.com is one of the recommended sights there.
this is a response to Lethabo Mojapelo: it has only been 2 days since Yahoo Search Marketing has finally refunded me. I kept emailing them regularly until they probably realized that i am serious. There is hope still. first of all you need to get their telephone nos. and call them. have your account info, and user name for Yahoo search marketing ready when you call. if you want i can send you their tel. nos. I hve called so frequently that they are practically on first name basis with me. LOl. dont give up hope, they do refund but you must be patient and relentless.
additionally, Lethabo Mojapelo, if you are trying to contact Data Entry Business for a refund, you will need the product nos that was assigned to the 49.95 payment at the time of purchase. If you do not have those nos hiding somewhere in one of their emails then you need to go onto this site called http://www.eslr8.com. plug in your email address and you will be emailed the product item nos. After esselerate emails you the item nos. you can then email it to the Data Entry Business so that they can enter your nos into their system and subsequently expedite your refund. without these nos. they will not refund you. good luck
Thanks for your info – you’ve saved me money and frustration (as well). The email sounded pretty good and, as I do surveys (for hardly any incentives, just for interest)I was tempted…
But, thanks for the warning : the email really was SPAM as my security program was telling me!
A. Winter
Thanks for this message. All online surfers should be warned against such easy money making syndrome on the net lately. They will suck you dry and amke your pocket empty or run you into debts….So be careful
i have been caught up in this scam. is there anywhere thats someone knows of that will bing me back to the original site that reckons it will give refunds????
pls email me at princess_manda@hotmail.com
Yep, you saved my butt too. I am so grateful to have found you guys in my search for a legit way to help make ends meet. I will check out telecommuter.com and I have subscribed to this site. Keep up the good work, guys!
Another victim here. I bought the scam like many people do out of the need to earn a quick income from home. I had back surgey in September and knew I would be laid up for 3-6 months with no income. Hastily I bought their bogus program without researching it a few months ago. I tried many times to comprehend their literature and all that I could understand was that I needed to buy this, and set up that, and join this, and register for that, etc…… The one thing I completely understood was that I had been scammed. Sorry to all others who have been also been scammed, and congratulations to the ones who researched before they lost their hard earned money. I sure could use the $49.95 to buy some pain medication for the pain on my backside I’ve developed from kicking myself. Thank you Joe for informing people.
I was hoping to make some at home money to supplement the income I make at my 8-5. I was so close to signing up for this website. But as with everything, I always google anything I have to pay for to make sure that I’m getting my moneys worth. I found this site and it confirmed the nagging voice in the back of my head. That this was too good to be true. Thank you for putting this information out there. You saved me from losing my hard earned money and time and stress of trying to recoup.
Hi Joe,
thank you so much for this information – i too had been tempted by dataentry, com after having them recommended by top-paying-online-jobs.com – who claim to have done all the research and eliminated the scammers!! i am now going to completely give up my search for paid on line work at home ( i am on maternity leave and wanted to earn to help our family). i have already checked out keystrokes for cash and several others that come recommended as NOT being scams – but all to no avail – they all turn out to be scams as discovered by wonderful people like you. so thanks so much – however i am sad that there is no genuine opportunity for me to work from home like this. if you do find any genuine jobs please please let me know!!! i really need to find a way to earn from home.
thanks again,
Astrid ( Melbourne Australia)
Well, I am the fool, I have been trying to find a legitimate home job so I can stay at home with my kids and this, unfortunately was the one that I choose, well needless to say I didn’t check out your website first, atleast I am only out the $50, keep up the good work on letting others know whats really going on out there. Thanks.
A month ago I paid $49.95 for the Dataentrybusiness.com program, I paid through Plimus. It was advertised that within 2 business days I will be contacted. I have a good paying job but my commute is 3 hours every day so I decided to find another way to get an income from home. It is almost two weeks I have not heard or get any contact from either Plimus or DataEntry. I will call my credit card company to dispute the purchase and reimburse my money. It might have worked for others, but I did not get anything.
I am sooo glad i found your site…you did save me 50 bucks..I kept looking for the scam page and there you were thank you thank you. I am the mother of 5 and just want to stay home with my kids so this sounded great and the $$$ wow..should have known to good to be true..I wasted 50 bucks on the Reverse Funnel System a few weeks ago and then found out that it was just to go to another page to puchase a 3,000 dollar vacation package…will we never learn. Someday hopefully we’ll find something and all will be well??!!..
I signed up for dataentrybusiness.com.
I tried to contact them for a refund and the
e-mail address can’t be found and of course there’s no phone number. What can I do?
Thank You,
Bev
I’m glad I found this site in my search for the truth, I was this close to signing up but am glad now that I didn’t. The way you explained how it works makes sence but I don’t have time to “sell” 15,000 tubes of cream for my $400 per week. Thanks
this message is for Debbie Butt. I was scammed but got my refund within 1 week of my request. I searched their website for a ‘contact’ email address. following my request for a refund, they sent me these advertisements about how I can invest BLa BLah Blah …. which I suspect are automatic responses. An email then followed asking me to send them the item product number which i knew not. HOwever, I used the website address that showed up on my credit card statement: essellerate.com, got that number and emailed it to data entrybusiness. they then promptly refunded me. for more infor – i had indicated this in an earlier discussion at the top of this page.
Thanks for putting up this info. Like others I was almost “had” by this scam, just like I have been by those so called paid survey scams. I guess the only way to make money from is selling or lying. But anyway THANKS for saving me some money.
Hi Joe,
I appreciate your idea of helping people not to get into scam.
I signed up for dataentrybusiness.com.And found that it is scam.
Is there any way that I can get my money back.
Do you have any contact # or Email ID or mailing Address.
And wanted to know if they charge my credit card again and again. If that is the case how do I stop that. While signup process I gave my ITIN #. Will there be any problem in that.
Waiting for your help.
Thanks
Uma
Thanx so much for keeping tabs on scams like this. Add me to the list of people saved! I just had a neck fusion surgery and was looking for something I can do from home while off work. I almost fell for it too. But, I googled the name of the website and your review came up. Thank You!!!
You just saved me $50. I should know better, but like you I am somehow convinced that there MUST be a way to make real money from home with my computer. Thank you for this review. You are helping more people than you could possibly know.
I too have just been saved..I rang my daughter to ask her what she thought of data entry work for me at home. She told me to google the company and put the word dispute. Thatis how I found this site. Oh thank you soo much to the moderators as I nearly sucked myself in.I am a disabled pensioner who was about to spend the only fifty dollars I had. Times are soo hard now and this terrible scammers are taking advantage of us innocent.I am making small money with emailcash.com.au with surveys now and thats it, I give up.
how do I get a refund from dataentrybusiness.com?
Thank You,
Beverly
Thanks so much for the info. Yet another person saved from dataentrybusiness.com’s scam. Did you know that the sponsored link of nfo.ApplyDataEntry.com has it listed as one of the top 2 data entry jobs from home?(wonder who paid for that ad) I am so frustrated…..I am a mother of two that lives in a semi-rural area and am just looking to use my admin skills to supplement our income without wasting what little money we have. How do you cut through the crap?!
Cheers mate for your information on that site , was just about to pay them , glad I did not .
Cheers .
Levi
I went to essellerate.com for my refund/data entry
business.com but i couldn’t find the info all I
found was items to order.
Thank YOu
Good thing I decided to investigate a bit..
Thanx for the info.
I feel like an idiot for even considering sending the $ to data entry business.com
I knew it sounded too good to be true.
I guess I will check out dailytelecommuter.com now. I’m a college student and really need to find something legit.
Thanx again.
Thanks so much for the advice about dataentrybusiness.com – I almost fell for it. There is another website that says to beware of all data entry sites but 2 or 3. One of them was Tanya Louise’s and it was theonlinebusiness.com with Rob & Teresa Stump and you just have to pay shipping of $9.95 for their kit. I’m confused because the site appears to be backed by the better business bureau. The BBB links actually go to their site. I’m glad there are people out there like you to help us. Thank you, again.
i guess i’m not that lucky and become one of thousands of people who got scammed. i’m a mom trying to find more money without having to leave my 1 year old son. i just become a member of a similar site and paid 49.99 US$ fee. it’s so similar with dataentrybusiness.com. after reading your article, joe,i know that they’re just the same, they tell u to to post ads to make money and giving u e-books that hardly to understand what exactly they’re talking about even u opened your eyes as wide as u could and re-read it thousands of time. They’re just affiliate programmes. Don’t get fooled like me everyone, don’t join this either..Thanks for your work joe, i wish i had gotten here earlier…
I can’t remember how long it has been since I started receiving e-mail offers to join
“dataentrybusiness.com” Even thru “yahoo” I get these offers. I have been slow at work lately and I googled work at home. Everything, and I mean everything lead to this opportunity! Thank God I found your information! Add my $49.99 to your total of savings keeping me away from this scam
and the OTHERS! It sounds like I should check out
dailytelecommuter.com and I will.
Joe, thank you very much for your hard work to expose Dataentrybusiness.com! I was searching the web for information on those who’ve joined the program in order to see what they had to say. I found the link to your board and eagerly read every word.
THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME $50 BUCKS!!!!! I usually am pretty savy at spotting a scam, but was almost sucked in to this “company” by some of the positive comments I saw at other links on Google. However, after reading your research and seeing the truth laid out I breathed a sigh of relief that I didn’t push the “Order Now” button!
Thank you for your dedication to spreading the word about scams. Bless you!
All I can say is…WOW! I have been all over the net the past 3 to 4 years, trying this and trying that but I have NEVER came across such an awesome site as this one! Way to tell it like it is!! Nothing but honesty and the real truth here, at least based on what I have read so far but, after going over the top of the website, and just a dozen or so comments, what a GEM of a site!
I am so tired of all the lyin sob’s out there who thrive on taking advantage of the new, unaware people just getting started looking on the net for a way to earn an honest income from home. I know what I have been through and I wouldnt wish that on anyone.
I have to go back and look at e comments posted here as I noticed a few of them had some links to what might be real opportunities to actually make some income on the internet.
I have said this before elsewhere and I’ll say it again here……If these con artists and scammers would stop for just a minute to think about what they are bound to destroy. I speak of the Internet and the wealth of information that one has at his/her fingertips. Think about it. You can communicate, trade/sell services and goods to people all over the globe! To me, thats powerful stuff, and it just tears me up how some idiots think nothing of what they are destroying. The internet should be a safe place for all, young and old, to learn and prosper. Its not about selling some worthless garbage to an individual on the opposite side of the planet!
There, Ive said my peace.
And BRAVO for making this incredible, one of a kind website. I am amazed, to say the least. Thank you, thank you!
I have to get reading more here.
Be well,
Steven
Thanks for the tip-off about dataentrybusiness.com – saved me $US 50!
Thanks for sharing this information on data entry business. I was considering joining but found your site doing my due deligence. I would like to find a honest home business. Please forward any information you might have that could help me. Thanks,,,,, Ron
Hi, i ordered the web colleagues program today however, its not as simple as i thought it would be. Do you happen to know if its genuine at all? And how exactly it works.
Wow… I’m extremely glad I thought to Google the website for DataEntryBusiness.com and found your site. THANK YOU ! I have received this invitation several times…. I have just now had enough time to check in to it before dumping yet another load of money in the ever appearing Black Hole that seems to be looming around every corner!
Ironically, I have also received a couple of invitations to the Lawn Chair Millionaire…. basically some sort of upline, downline, join now before the timer runs out sorta thing…. Do you have any detailed information on this one?
Thanks… and Happy New Year !!!
Thanks for the info. Anybody tried about the theonlinebusiness.com
I have already wasted the money for one 49.99 it cost me. I was trying to make some money because I have to take care of my 89 yr old grandmother and 4 children so working outside the home is not an option. I wasted money I did not have to spend. My search continues only this time I do not have money to do that.
THANK YOU! I have been looking for other LEGITIMATE work from home programs for myself and friends I know that are in bad financial situations and this was one of the businesses that I received an email from. . . boy am I glad I “Googled” for more infoon this company along with the claims of the news names at the top. Thankfully, your link came up and I was able to make a TRULY INFORMED DECISION!!!
Thanks & Have a great New Year!!!
Thank you very much for the advice on data entry business – I almost fell for it.I am so glad i found your site. You did save me 50 bucks. Its really a a gem of a site. Its highly appreciatee your idea of helping people not to get into data entry scams.
Thanks joe. Its highly appreciated your idea of helping people not to get into data entry scams. like dataentrybusiness.com i am receiving number of emails from different work from home offers. To name a few mydatateam, workfromhome etc.would u please make a review on mydatateam.com also so that people will come to know whether it is legitimate or not. why because the comapny portrays it has been certified as web assured, scam X certified and paypal business certified.
thanks and new year wishes
I am a single mom of a 2 year old girl and work full time, but it’s not enough and I just don’t have the time to work 2 jobs like i used to, so I’m always looking for some way to make some extra cash. As I find these work at home deals, I always look to see if they are scams so thank you for the wonderful information on what I was actually considering. But there is fact on one of your commenters in that you should never have to pay for a stay at home job, which leads me to my second thought…why are you promoting your book or even trying to sell how to get a stay at home job??? Isn’t that a little hippocrytical? Also, just a heads up…those same “ads sponsored by Google” that you were just trashing are also linked to this site. Nonetheless, thanks for the info.
Please tell me how I can get a refund from Data Entry Business.com.
Thank You,
Bev Butt
WOW, GLAD I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH ON data entry business.com,was about to jump in until i read your report.
Keep up the great work to protect us suckers.
THANKS
PAUL
I’ve just finished reading through their website advertising. I agree with a lot of the posts here, simply put, if THEY charge YOU a setup fee to work then generally its some form of scam, or at least walking a very thin line. I have to say I’ve never seen one of these sites using a ‘timer’ to mount pressure on the reader to sign up. I guess its a way of stopping someone doing any due diligence like reading through this site here as they might feel they have to join or they’ll lose the discount or free gifts…but then we can just add this to the list of things to look out for..the more of these ‘tricks’ get used the easier it is to spot a scam without having to waste time reading the webpage.
I too was about to pay$49.95 . Thank-you so much for your advise. I will watch your site always.
All i have to say THANKS for being so helpfull. I was about to join them. But now I do not think so . Thanks a lot man.
I’ve been looking for a work at home job for some time now. I’m really glad that I checked this dataentrybusiness.com out through this site. I has saved me the price of joining another rip off. I’ve tried the type at home business and all I managed to get from them was places to run ads for free “which has never paid me a single dime for the time I have invested in them” THANKS A LOT MAN.
Thanks for the info. That job sounded too good to be true. First thing that caught my eye into suspicion was that the bonus offers “never expired” and second was that if the company have been solid for 5 years why would they be accepting up to 8,000 members if by this time they could’ve had up to 100,000,000x that amount speaking in terms of MLM. Their money back guarantee got me thinking this could be a legit job but the above mentioned facts were just too alarming to ignore and I had to do some research that lead me here. Once again, thank you!
1. CLAUDETTE Hi Claudette, I have paid $50.00 to dataentrybusiness. I want the refund. Can you please send me their telephone number. So that i can get some refund if possible.
thanks

I am really shocked i researched this company and found a ton of legit information that make them for real. Although, during my research I have also found 2 phishing websites related to http://www.dataentrybusiness.com These websites are (www.data-entry-business.com and http://www.dataentrrybusiness.com notice the difference of the 2 compairing the original website look for yourself and notice in the complete your order the transaction page is completely different no sign of security symbols or privacy approval links that you would normally find on legitimate websites the original http://www.dataentrybusiness.com website does have those symbols. I would like to say that with this opportunity you can make the extra income as advertised. What they don’t tell you is how, or that you have to buy this, or advertise this, or sale this, in order to make that income.
Joe have you purchased from the original website and tested them out and also any one else who has attempted this site maybe been scammed by the phishing websites as indicated above. Please let me know and also I am ready to make things happen so joe if you would like to help me. I would greatly appreciate it. Those work at home business need to be true to their word and not so much into just in it for the money for them selves.. Joe also if you have any ideas you would like to discuss with me. We can be partners in creating a work at home business for people who want the real thing. If any one want to reply to my message please do
The website is a ripoff.
Also, Joe is already taken. By me. He’s mine.
Hi,
thanks for the tip Joe!
cheers,
James
Joe,
I also thought this was a great work-at-home business. But before getting involved with it, I inquired about it on work-at-home message board and was given this link. As its been said, “Anything that sounds to good to be true…usually is”.
Joe, thank you for your investigation of this website. You’ve saved me a lot of “grief” and money had I gotten involved.
Hey there steve can’t we share joe He has an opportuniest mind and it seems so do you so lets all be partners. If not at least I tried I just want to be able to provide for everyone else out there. Unless your already doing that than show me the way
MANN Thanks for the info. No wonder I tried accessing the web site and it did’nt let me no more, I don’t think the website exist anymore. I wish there was a way I could get my $50 back. I did’nt even get a phone # to make a complain. Wish I would have known sooner, Thanks
OMG i payed for that bullshit dataentrybusiness.com
and your so right they got me nasty i eventually got my money back after i said i was gonna sue because there denying my money when i still was in the refund period.
DONT DO IT DONT PAY FOR ONLINE JOBS THERE ALL SCAMS!!!!!!
Hi Guys,
Should have googled this back in November when I bought the dataentrybusiness.com package. Was able to access their web site at that time but have postponed following it up till now. OF COURSE CAN’T ACCESS THE SITE. A LESSON LEARNED. You are doing good work.
Okay, I read through most of the previous post and most identify with Lilia back in July 12, 07. I have gone through so so many websites promises legitimate work at home. I have spent an unspeakable amount of money in programs that claim to be the opportunity that you’ve been searching for to start earning the money you desire to do this and do that. I have cried and prayed many night and days about my desire to find “the” thing that will allow me to “go back to work” so to speak while being able to stay at home with my now two year old daughter. I even tried a paper route, which shocked everyone. I came from a coporate background and have since 2005 been at home with my daughter initially do to her fragile state (prematurely delievered).
I am determined that I “WILL” find the avenue to stay at home while still maintaining some since of Persona and workability. I don’t want to just “be at home with her”. I want to earn income as I did while I worked in the corporate world. I did fall pray to the dataentrybusiness.com hype and did attempt to obtain a refund all within a timely manner; to no avail. Just today I spend $197.00 on a program call processathome.com. Something about processing rebates. After getting into one of the training modules I realized it is not what I thought I would be doing. I am having second thoughts about it. I normally check the businesses on http://www.bbb.org but I am so desperate I didn’t even take the time to do that. I think I want my money back from this site already. Please help me.
Kristi, I hear you. Please STOP spending money on these programs. All the help we have to offer is contained in our ebook. It will show you where to look for genuine jobs that you do from home. We make no absurd claims about large incomes, just show you how to make a couple hundred bucks per month working from home. With a corporate background, you should have no trouble getting jobs when you’ve checked out the resources in our book (and it’s a lot less than $197!).
If you’re willing to do phone service type work from home, also check out the Little White Ebook of Homeshoring Jobs.
Finally, check The Daily Telecommuter every day. Some guy over there posts 15 or more genuine work at home jobs every weekday.
I hope this helps. If you want to send me some more specific details about your education and work experience, I’ll see what I can do to help. You can email me at joe[at]ivetriedthat[dot]com
Hi, I got sucked into a work at home site. Chris Campbell with a funnel system. I Had only a little money enough to pay the guaranteed money back 50 bucks not the later to find 2995.00 needed to buy in. how do I get my refund back? Thanks Buzz
After seeing the post about trying to get back into the dataentry site I went back and tried it. I know I had the right number because I have it written on a index card and they denied me entry. The worst par of this is that I am gettting desperate. I have no other choices because I can not desert my family. At least now I can not waste money on finding a job because I spent my mad money on a hope.
Yep – I went for dataentrybusiness.com (DEB) and realised the scam soon after logging in.
I requested my refund – as guaranteed on their now defunct website – three times and all I got was my “read receipts” (which I always attach to my emails to companies) were coming back ‘deleted – not read’.
****** SO FOR ALL THAT WANT YOUR MONEY BACK – DO THIS (I GOT IT WITHIN 24 HOURS) ******.
If you havent already set up a paypal account – do so. That is how I paid for the DEB scammers membership (as Paypal is secure and you are insured)- but it doesnt matter how you paid.
You send a REQUEST FOR PAYMENT to : paypal@esellerate.net (as that was DEB paypal email account) the amount you want refunded and what I did was put in the ‘note’ box – THIRD AND FINAL WARNING. Failure to refund amount immediately will result a formal complaint to Consumer Affairs and Paypal.
Obviously Paypal knows these scammers – because I couldnt believe how fast my refund came through (I lodged it late last night and had it in my paypal account this morning) To those who dont have Paypal – you then transfer the money from your paypal account to your bank account.
HOPE THIS HELPS!

Yes!!!!!!! I spent $50 as registration fee to Dataentrybusiness.com, but I found that they are absolutly liers! I requsted many times to give my monet back but no reply from them and now it is sometime that the website does’nt work at all!
This is a great site, and you do a terrific job of unmasking these scams for what they really are and spelling out what’s really going on in black and white. In just a couple of sentences, you described exactly what these “data entry” programs actually are, while the scammers who sell them write paragraphs and paragraphs describing what they aren’t at all.
I actually came across your site while checking up on another company. When I first read through their site, I was nearly sucked in. Then I decided to explore some of the other sites that also offered “data entry” work at home. Not because I suspected it was a scam, but because I wanted to see what other options were out there. The red flags went up, though, when nearly every site I went to sounded the same as the one I looked at. The wording on the pages, the claims made, the assurances offered… it all sounded like the same company had put up multiple websites under different names. Even the pop-up windows with the 50% off coupon that expires at 11:59 PM tonight… every site had this. Or the regular $99 price being slashed to $49 for just a short time. So what initially sounded like a great opportunity on the first site I went to, started screaming “SCAM!” when I encountered the exact same thing on other sites. Every site seemed to have been created using the same template and following the same blueprint; every site made the same sales pitch in the same way.
Data entry? I don’t think so. What these companies offer has nothing to do with what most people think of when they think of data entry. This is affiliate marketing, plain and simple. And for those people who understand what this is and want to try their luck at it, that’s fine. But telling people who are looking for actual data entry jobs that this is for them is deceptive and just plain cruel. Someone who actually wants to try affiliate marketing might be able to be successful at it, knowing what’s involved and what the risks are. But someone looking for data entry won’t succeed at it, especially since they don’t even know the true nature of what they’re doing and can’t appreciate what’s actually involved.
The bottom line is, the companies that are supposedly providing you with data entry work for which they’ll pay you are doing nothing more than tricking you into doing their advertising for them and tricking you into paying for that advertising. They write their little ads, and then instead of submitting them to Google and paying Google to run them, they get YOU to submit them to Google and pay Google to run them. And all under the guise of “data entry” work! Then they sit back and reap the profits from any products sold without spending a dime on advertising.
Imagine if the entire marketplace worked like this. Imagine if no company paid to advertise its products or services, but enlisted some suckers to pay for it instead by misleading them about the true nature of what they’ve been enlisted to do. And the only reward the poor suckers get is a small commission for every sale made. And you thought slave labor only happened in sweat shops, or in third world countries.
What really gets me is, if they were honest and up-front about what they’re actually selling you, and if they were teaching you how to use Google to advertise and market your OWN products or services to make your OWN business successful, they might actually do something legitimate and helpful. But instead, they are teaching you to make someone ELSE’S business successful and conning you into not realizing that. “We’ll hook you up with thousands of companies ready to employ you and who won’t turn you down” is really “We’ll hand you over to companies ready to use you for their own gain and who won’t turn down the chance to do so.”
Open your eyes, people. The only ones benefiting from these so-called “data entry” jobs at home are: 1) the people selling the programs; and 2) the companies they “hook you up with” who simply take advantage of you while pretending to employ you. The system they’ve created certainly works, for THEM. YOU get caught in between them, and get screwed from both sides.
Excellent points, Laz Rojas. I just might feature your comment on our front page.
One thing I forgot to mention when discussing how all of the sites followed the same template was the testimonials. On two different sites belonging to two supposedly different companies, the same exact text appeared in the testimonials. WORD FOR WORD. Only the photos, names, and locations of the so-called “satisfied customers” were different. What they said on one site was repeated verbatim on the other. The testimonials were even in the same order on both sites!
As soon as I saw this, that was it. There was no way this couldn’t be a scam. And I couldn’t believe how lazy and unoriginal the scam was. Worse than the 50% coupon shtick. With the coupon, you might convince yourself that a site is simply copying another site’s tactic in order to be competitive. But exact same testimonials from different people? Don’t they realize that someone looking around the web for a data entry job is going to visit various sites and sooner or later encounter this? Or do they really think that once you visit their site, you’ll swallow their pitch and sign up on the spot and not visit any other sites?
Laz, do you think you could find those sites again? I’d be very interested in seeing the duplicated testimonials.
I’ll check my browser history and see if I can bring them up. They should still be there.
Something else I wanted to talk about are the so-called “review” sites which claim to steer you toward companies that are legit, a bunch of which I explored last night. They come right out and say that most of the work-at-home opportunities are scams, and then they claim they’ve done research and found the scant few that are not. And they’re willing to steer you in the right direction because of the goodness of their hearts.
This is nothing but a very clever and deceptive tactic which is in reality an extension of the original scam. These folks know that some people are wise enough to think, to analyze, to investigate, and that these people will figure it out on their own that the so-called job opportunity is a scam. The scammers can’t afford to let such people figure it out. They can’t afford to let people confirm their doubts on their own, because once the people do, that’s it, they’re gone. So they step in and short circuit this by admitting there are many scams, and confirm the people’s suspicion FOR them. They count on the people thinking, “Aha! I KNEW they were scams! I suspected it, and this guy has confirmed it! He’s fighting for truth, he’s trying to save me from falling for the scams. So if he recommends a site, he must be telling me the truth.” The scammer knows that once he’s got you thinking he’s on your side by confirming what you already suspected and rescuing you, he’ll have your trust. And once he has your trust, he can scam you you to his heart’s content. Saving you from falling into the hole in front of you, he can steer you right into the hole next to you.
These review sites are all over the place. One guy proclaimed he could prove he wasn’t a scammer because he wasn’t asking for money. He was steering you to the “legit” opportunities and asking nothing in return. Why would he lie, if there’s nothing in it for him? There’s no reason to lie if there’s no incentive, right? So he must be telling the truth. That makes sense, doesn’t it? WRONG. Asking for money is not the only component of a scam. When I read this guy’s assurance that he was on the level because he wasn’t asking for money, I immediately thought, “Yeah, but how do I know you’re not getting money from scammers you’re steering victims to? You can refrain from asking ME for money because you’re getting money from THEM. And how do I know you’re not the scammer yourself, pretending to be someone else professing to have found a legit site and steering me to your own site?”
This trick can work because people equate “scam” with someone taking their money. The assumption is: If no taking of money is involved, it must be on the level. You need to realize that no taking of money is involved in this trick because this trick is basically just Part One of the scam. The taking of money happens in Part Two, and the only purpose of Part One is to lead you right into Part Two. It’s like the game of three card monte, which is run by TWO con artists working in concert. One guy plays the game and wins to make you think YOU can win, but he’s in on the scam all along.
Well folks Buzz Back from my comment made on Jan 31st. I went to my bank and they said no problem just fill out a customer Fraud Claims Report and in about 5 to 10 business days they will have to prove I received a product or service. In the meanwhile my account will be credited back 50 bucks! Good riddance… Buzz
Way to go, Buzz. That’s how you do it, folks.
Laz Rojas has been trying to post the following updates. Not sure why he can’t, but I wanted you all to see this.
< <<<<
Not only did I find the two sites with identical testimonials from different people, I found a THIRD site with the same testimonials. That's right, folks. THREE different sets of people, THREE different sets of photos, ONE set of text. See them here:
http://www.paidsurveysetc.com/
http://www.onlinebestsurveys.com/
http://www.paidsurveyetcc.com/
You won’t know whether to get angry or laugh.
But that’s not all. I found two sites which offer as proof of earnings IDENTICAL bar graphs that show the exact same figures for the exact same dates. Go to these two sites and scroll about halfway down each page:
http://www.online-data-entry-jobs.com/
http://www.work-at-home-jobs.tv/
You’ll see that they both use the very same graphic to show their Clickbank accounts. So, both Laura Kauth and Donna Richards made the exact same amount of money on the exact same dates during the second half of May, 2006.
Both of these sites also use the very same image of a blue iMac with a dollar sign on its screen, and the text following this image is nearly identical on both sites. Indeed, much of the text on both sites, and the arrangement of topics throughout, is nearly identical.

THANKS
PAUL.
Well Paul I since then have not tried any more work at home get rich quick schemes. During my life I have had sucked into several high energy get rich quick schemes… The American dream is to have property, security, love and happiness. As my father had told me ( my rejected mentor I should have listened to said) “you can’t get something for nothing”) I think he is probably right… It takes hard work to achieve wealth. Investigation before signing any thing or paying and thing. These forums are not scams they are real people and are a tool to help our selves and others not to make the same mistake twice. World web mentors so to speak. I would say Paul, you are doing the right thing by inquiring and investigating, doing the foot work before proceeding with a lot of time and money. It’s like a little piece of you’re spirit is taken when another g.r.q.s. fails.
Ty Coughlin’s Funnel System is a pyramid, as simple as that. And the withhold the truth until they have lassoed the consumer by are own greed and at the same make us feel like we are a special selected few who will make tons of money. When we are purchasing a travel discount membership and Ty makes 50 bucks plus 1000 bucks for every one who joins. I personally don’t want to hurt any one for my gain. Many will lose and if you have extra $ to travel go straight to Global Travel Network and cut Ty out! Good Luck Buzz
.

I am very displeased with dataentrybusiness.com. I paid $49.99 for a scam. The website tells you that you can make hundreds of dollars entering data on easy forms, for a business of your choice, that is contained on their company list. By paying the $49.99 you are granted lifetime access to this list of companies and within “four minutes” you are earning money. I did not get access to this supposed list of companies. What I got was a list of companies you have to become an affiliate with. After you become an affiliate you have to get google adwords which cost you about another $30, then you have to set up a webpage for your company. I don’t have a company. After you do the webpage you are instructed that you have to use the google adwords to set up links to the company you affiliated with so that when people on the web use your link they are taken to your affiliate companies’ webpage. If web users use your link then you are “paid by click”. All of this is not what I signed up for and it is nothing like the website for dataentrybusiness.com explains to potential members. Their website leads you to beleive that you will make hundreds per day entering data onto forms for companies that you are never taken to once you pay the fee to become a member. I really am stupid for believing them. I have sent them three emails asking for my money back. That was almost a month ago and I have yet to recieve my money. I am extremely angry at this lack of response from the company and I can’t even visit the website to ask again for my money back because it says that the page has “timed out” or is no longer in service. I guess I will never get my money back, but I am writing this to let others know that dataentrybusiness.com is a scam and to do lots of research before signing up with a website that allows you to work from home.
Yes, any company that claims they will set you up with companies that will pay you to fill out forms should immediately be considered suspect. They are not offering legitimate data entry jobs for which you’ll be paid. They are tricking you into becoming an affiliate marketer, which isn’t the kind of job you’re looking for. You will not be paid to fill out a form for someone. You will be submitting ads on their behalf to Google and paying for these ads yourself… and the only money you might make is a commission should something be sold because of the ad you paid for.
As I wrote in an earlier post, “They write their little ads, and then instead of submitting them to Google and paying Google to run them, they get YOU to submit them to Google and pay Google to run them. And all under the guise of “data entry” work!” This is what all the so-called home data entry opportunities are really all about. Steer clear… unless you really want to do affiliate marketing. And if you do, you don’t need to pay any website $49 to get tricked into doing it.
Lord,i wish that i could get my money back. You know i paid $49.99 for this so call data-entry-job hopeing that was it a
real job work from home. Is there anything that we can do? I
would love to get my $49.99 back.
Thank You

Dear Sophie
You dont have to write anything to Paypal – just follow the instructions I provided in my messages on 17th Feb or 31st Jan and send ‘dataentrybusiness’ (DEB)an invoice for a refund (the amount you paid). You do this by clicking on the REQUEST FOR PAYMENT tab on Paypal and sending it to “paypal@esellerate.net”. (which was DEB’s paypal email account)
EASY!!!!
Mich (Australia)
Thanks for the effort to unmask these, everyone. I won’t say I was taken in by any of these companies, but I certainly *could* have been, had it not been for the efforts of the likes of you.
when was the last time dataent”rr”ybusiness.com scammers went poop?
Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me if this site http://www.zenithinfoonline.com/ offers legitimate online data entry jobs? They do have a contact address and other info but they ask for a registration fees, seems to be a scam in this regard though. But on the other hand, the website seems to authentic. I am quite skeptical about it. Pls help.
Anirban(India)
Hi Anirban, stay right away from all supposed data entry jobs. Most you’ll find are outright scams and time wasters. Please read everything which Joe has informed us about data entry scams at the top of this post. Be patient and do your research. If you come across a money making opp. even the legitimate one’s I suggest you don’t get excited and dive into it without weeks and months of good research. You can start off by going to google and type in the business/website name followed by reviews and also visit http://www.zenreviews.com/ for detailed information about a particular business. I’m currently looking at an online business I want to start of which I’ve been researching for months now and still will wait a little bit longer until I’m satisfied, why, because it’s where my money is concerned. Okay, hope you are warned and informed! please take care.
Ravi (Australia)
Hi,
I am from India and I am desperate for a work at home job.I joined Data Entry and paid the money December and Now I can’t access the site.I was so worriwd and by accident I came across your site and all these posts.I am going to try to get a refund of my money as advised by you’ll.Wish me luck.If you really know any legitimate online jobs please tell me ,I really need a job.
Thanks for letting me know of dataentrybusiness.com, i was about to sign up and i always check with google if a business is a scam or not, thank god i got into your site! I am a home maker from Chennai, India and have been trying to identify a genuine home based opportunity for an year and a half now – but in vain. I have opted for a trial offer with Global Domains .Inc – ws.domains, i never got any material or mail on the trial period, but after the trial was over, to my shock i find that they have deducted another $10 from my credit card for the successive month. I now want to cancel my membership, but they insist that i make a call to them to cancel otherwise they wont accept. Can some one help me on this?
And also if anyone can say is there anything as a home based opportunity to work?
Thanks to you for your wonderful service.

Chithra
Hi Joe My wife recently lost her job and is considering a stay at home computer type of opportunity so she can spend more time with our daughter. I love the idea of her being at home but I also am well aware of all the so called work from home scams and lies. I would like a little help as far as choosing a legit online opportunity. Any help is appreciated. Thanks to any and all help. John D
This scam artists online today claimed to be top reviewed and best legit work from home opportunity, but beware!!! they are the worst scammers, nothing is real so called “work from home”, either you get yourself free information by spending few mins doing google search or lost few bucks believing their lies, lies and again lies. Join an opportunity, only if they are scam free tested by a known person, your colleagues, or other members, dont fool by scams…or regret later! My advice is “Keep away” and you will thank me later. If you find a site interesting to work with, do a full research of that site only then join.
Hi
I am desperately in need of a dataentry or sort of job which i can do by sitting at home I have a kid and i have to look after my family so i am in need of money, can you please suggest me any of the legitimate sites where i can do the job without paying anything of purchasing any of the kit, I am a typing expert and have completed my B.com.
Hi
Here Thanks for letting we beginners know about various scams, but i also want to say that i need a job sitting at home, may be dataentry or sort i am typing expert and have completed my B.com. can you suggest any legitimate site to me i will be grateful to you for the help.
Excellent review! Just the kind of info I’ve been looking for. It’s good to know that somebody reveals the truth about these scams.
Thanks a lot for saving me from loosing my saved money to this kind of scam websites.
But I am really in need of “work from home” as I am mother of little baby. I am graduate and computer literate. If you can find me really genuine work online, then please let me know .
Once again thanks for loosing my money and like me saving many people from loosing their money.
Hi Joe. I accidentally came to this site and read Julia’s experience and shocked how similar it is to mine. I too with a baby forced to stay at home was looking desperately to find a way to make money from home and stumbled upon workathometop10.com. I have purchased six figure yearly just recently, only to find out that it has nothing that has been stated in the sales letter. The first 6 chapters are just blah blah and everything else is recycled garbage on affiliate marketing, that information can be easily found in the internet for free, and as if that is not enough, they attempt to make 2 other sales. The workathometop10 is misleading people with its false review and false testimonials. I think they are the only people who are making moneny at the cost of innocent newbies, but this is not the reason I am writing. I was seriously considering buying legitonlinejobs but glad that I saw your review on data entry jobs. I am realy very greatful for your review. Thank you for saving me from getting scammed again and getting ripped off my money at the time when I hardly afford to do so. Great job dude.
I’ve been looking for an online job and am almost desperate for one,but there is a lot of scamming on this front. This is a very good and enlightening blog-the best I’ve come across till now on this topic! All those who want to join data entry jobs,be warned here! Be very very cautious and research the companies properly. If anybody can let me know of a genuine data entry job which really pays,I’d be thankful.
Hi,
I’ve been looking for online data entry job and found quite a bunch of these offers. i was suspicious and started searching for reviews and stumbled upon http://consumerreports-online.org/typingjobs.php which didn’t only give reviews but the best DEJ online with supposedly honest reviews.i recently sent $50 to webcolleagues.com on the 2nd June and it’s only now that i found that i was fooled!! i sent a check by postal mail and as i live in Mu. i supposed it could take at least 2 weeks to reach it’s destination. We are the 16 th June, do you think i can still cancel the check???pls help me!!
Jane, I’m sorry to hear that. We’ve started exposing the “watchdog” sites, but not loudly enough, apparently. Yes, cancel payment on the check if it hasn’t already cleared your bank. There could still be time. Where is Mu?
I am indeed very grateful that there are such kind people as you guys to expose the scam. In fact I nearly wanted to give my Credit card number in the registration. But hesitated due to some gut feel because it felt too good to be true.
Thank you so much for helping me save the money as I am a retired person. God bless all.
Ei Joe, u are really doing o good job.If these data entry sites are bad, why advertise for them. Joe u say there are some legit sites online rite? Am in Ghana and had done a lot of homework on online data entry and i finally came across, http://www.my-team-data.com, they provide a support where u can contact and they responded asap.
i also tried dataentryportal.com and smartdataentry.com and relealised that they are the same(419).
Could u check out this site http://www.my-team-data.com belonging to one Timothy Darwin and give me a feed back
don’t even of trying smartdataentry.com they are a scam and i can’t even have my rfund right away i need to make for their 6 month grace period and i filed a complaint against paypal and they sided with smartdataentry.com. they just wanted you to make google adwords and with regards to the dat entry jobs? they just give you a list which you can search thru google or yahoo at anytime. Don’t pay smartdataentry they are a scam.
I’ve just paid 49.50 to smartdataentry.com. I feel so stupid that I didnt do much research on it before paying. is there seriously no way to get a refund from this site before 6 months? in my paypal account it states the transaction is paid to Glen Douglas, is it the same for you too Gyenth?
how about the http://www.home-profits.net if you make a wire transfer th payment if for plimus in san deigo ca but i checked it in bbb link they have registerd since 2003…… but i still have read a complain saying that the plimus is scam……. any comments for this please
Was wonderin if anyone has tried the (Process At Home) website, where you fill out rebates for big companies? Its suppost to be the #1 Work at home site. Appreciate the info on the data entry jobs.
yspydery, yes we have. Scroll to the top of the page and then click on “Rebate processor jobs” under the “Categories” tab.
Thanks for all the info. Are the sites (links) at the top of some of your pages any good (the surveys). Or do you know of any work at home jobs anywhere that aren’t scams. Or do I just need to search harder for a 9-5 job in the “Real World”.
I am still trying to get an interview via telephone with “Data Entry Bucks Plimus”. A young lady called me two nights ago and insisted on talking to my wife also, I said OK and she said she would call back later; which she did. But I was not at home when she did call back. And now I cannot get in touch with her and they have my $39.95. Any suggestions?
DataEntryBusiness.com is a scam. I am old enough to have seen this type of con many times, dressed in various cloaks.
-the website paints an unreal picture about making money.
It claims that if you buy a “membership” you can make money by cliking and pasting data, which they provide, into fields on forms, which they provide.
Then the website indicates that if you complete one transaction per day you will make over $1000.00 per month.
Two points
1) they do not tell you what a “transaction” is (it is not copying and pasting)
2) this kind of thing does not fit my life experience.
A function as easy as copying and pasting data into fields is something a software program can accomplish faster, and much cheaper than paying someone $335.00, each time.
When have you heard of any unskilled data enty job which pays $335.00 for one hour of work?
Other red flags.
SCARCITY – the website is full of closing techniques, i.e. sales marketing ploys designed and intended to get you, the intended victim (in this scenario you are a victim), to agree ahead of time to say yes when the salesman finally asks for your money.
“THERE ARE ONLY 5 MORE OF THESE JOBS LEFT!”
The truth is that they will happily sell these “memberships” to 5000 people for $39.95 every day of the week, if they can.
The ticking countdown clock -
again this is there to create a sense of urgency; you might lose out, get left behind, miss the train, miss out on this tremendous money making opportunity!if you don’t ACT NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
(The reality is that they want you to act now, while the effects of the emotion-based appeals are highest; and before you have a chance to look up information about them.)
Another common sales tactic is to create the impression that the product/service/item for sale/(whatever they’re offering in exchange for your money) has GREAT VALUE. They accomplish this, usually and in this case, by itemizing all the attributes of the product and listing a large dollar value by each of them.
Next the prices are totalled and the grand total is listed in big bright numbers!
To cap it off, the salesman shows you on the official looking paper where this once in a lifetime opportunity can be had for the trifling sum of just $39.95! This represents a savings of HUNDREDS of dollars. “Surely, you will agree, you will not find a deal like this again, if you live to be one hundred years old.”
(Of course the truth is, this “product” is smoke and mirrors, and it did not cost the salesman one penny. All the information he is selling in this case is available for free, to anyone who looks it up.)
Finally to increase the sense of scarcity and urgency they end with what the words *URGENT MESSAGE* (when you learn their tricks, they really jump out at you) and then they repeat the “scarcity” message saying they have “limited memberships” and this is “due to an increase in demand” and the big finish is that you must buy the membership now “BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE”.
You have already heard/read that this is a limited offer so many times that you will likely accept it now as true.
“So hurry and order now before the proices go up!” (direct quote).
I sincerely hope that you searched for and found this page before deciding whether or not to pay the $39.95.
If you have already paid, try to get a refund immediately, and use all the resources of your state’s Attorney General’s office to your advantage.
Hi I came across this site because I was doing a little research on a site called http://www.dataentrybucks.com.. Thank you for what you are doing in helping people with these scams. I have been in the same home based business for almost for 5 years. If any of you are interested, The Original Limu Company is a very legitimate business. I owned a beauty shop until 2 years ago when I started working from home full time.
Keep up the good detective work.
Thank you

Hey Hey,
I googled this site, as I do all of them, only 4 pages came up and 33 similar entries were ommited. Guess who was ommited….yepper this site. Usually the scammer warnings come up pretty high in the listings but your was buried for whatever reason, not selling enough adwords are we?? Yea they dressed the site up pretty good but no site map or live address or phone number, just an e-mail address—in the words of the immortal Monty Python “RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY”
I am so happy I found you on google search.
You have saved me money and time.
I have signed up and lost so much money in the past…If only I knew about looking before I leap.
Well I very greatful for this site.

Thank you for informing me on the scam! DataEntryBucks is very misleading, They told me it was a one time fee but didnt let me know i would be paying OUT OF POCKET for everytime someone clicks on my ad. I would ONLY be getting paid IF someone was to actually buy it and the chances of that happining im sure are less to NONE. They were also asking me to ask for an increase in credit!!! Luckyly i was only charged $39.99 to get into the SCAM. I knew this was to good to be true! Thank goodness i just had an interview with a REAL JOB! no more data entry for me ive tried that and usually when it says “THIS IS NOT A SCAM, THIS IS A LEGIT WAY TO MAKE MONEY” 10 times out of 10 it is!!
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone happens to know of any home based Telesales vacancies? I can’t seem to find any genuine ones.
I have been scamed! I paid the money then found ot it was going to cost more. I have tried to email them but it bounces back saying it’s not a real email address. I wan’t my money back but don’t know the channels to go through. The money I lost ended up being more than what was quoted because I did not know it was in american dollars and I’m in Australia. I will never be fooled again. I will never contemplate work that I have to pay for. If anyone knows of the legal channels to go through in Australia to claim a refund I would appreciate the names as I want my money back.
Another person saved…. thanks

Thank you for the info. I got a email from them and when I emailed the person back to find out if this was for real I got another email, but check this out the same first name but a different last name and a different wibsite thats when I decided to check them out. Are there any legit data entry jobs out there?

Ok I wouldn’t say that you saved me, cause I smelled it was scam from afar, but it helps to find out more about things like that just to make sure… Well, the main reason to write a post in here was actually to ask you something:

Hi to all viewers!! Could you check on these two site, I think there both from the same owner. (www.superprofits.biz) and (www.home-profits.biz)
I purchased both at $40 each. When I got to the members area there both exactly the same. I should have seen the first sign when both front page said if you reach your payout earnings of $1000 or more they’ll pay you on top of that an extra $1000. So that will come out over $2000 plus at the end of the month. WOW! IF ONLY THAT WAS SO TRUE, WRONG. I can not make any amount. I’ve been doing this for about now 4 months. What am I doing wrong. They even credit your opening membership $100. I cannot ask for a payment until I make $100 USD on my part. They give you free advertisement to post over the internet at free sites. I’ve been posting at 5 sites a day, but nothing. I can’t even get my money back because it’s been more than 4 months. That’s it, I won’t be buying another program over the internet. I think I will just stick to free surveys even though it’s for cents or a couple of dollars and points, it’s safer that way. I don’t have lots of money to throw away. I’m trying to make extra money for my family and bills to pay. But you can’t tell what is out there between what’s fraud and what’s the real thing. THANKS for your site where we can find out what program is scamming us folks for what little money we have. I would be really greatful if you could checkout those two sites for me and save me the trouble of posting over the wesites. I’m probably just wasting my time. Could you tell me of some survey sites that are legit and are for real. Here is email.

Hi, everyone. This is for Eunice. Can you let me in on how you go about making income every week. Is this work from online. I would be forever greatful. All I’ve found so far is a few survey sites that earns a couple of cents and dollars. But my experience so far is typing 45 to 50 WPM, work in the past as an Insurance Representative for a private company that handles home insurance, auto, and for businesses who need insurance. Also secretarial and Administrative duties. But I’m looking for something where I can work from my home. Here is my email if you want to pass some info my way. Thanks again for this site and for everyones help. Email me at: katland5@live.com
Great Article. It really helped your credibility by using the excerpt from the better business bureau. You saved me!
